I never was a big believer in a cordless model for a circular saw. I gave in and purchased the 18 volt Milwaukee saw when I recently purchased an 18 volt Milwaukee drill that was on sale. So far I do not have any major complaint with this saw , I've only cut 3/4 fence boards with it so far. I must say that it sure is a lot easier then pulling out 2 extension cords to reach where I was working. I am impressed that the saw appears sturdier then the 20 volt DeWalt model and several other cheaper brands. For light work I think the 18 volt is fine but if your doing a lot of framing and sheathing the 24 volt is more appropriate

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Squirrel Tough little go-to saw
This saw feels like the corded versions by Milwaukee, saws I have that will surely outlast me! Because of it's size and ergonomic design and left side blade, it is easier to set up on a cut line. I can easily see either side of the blade. This saw makes my free-hand cutting look guided, easy plunge cuts, and it's the straightest, best cutting saw I have ever used! It does not slow down during tough cutting. The saw is exceptionally quiet, probably due to 3500 rpm's, like Makita's saws, sound-wise...battery life is good, get the 4.0's. This has fully replaced my corded Milwaukee tilt-lok 7.25" saw. This is my "go-to" saw. Highest recommendation.... I am aware of the new Fuel version...this one is a pound heavier, cuts less, but is quieter and, well that's about it. Get both.

Best saw I ever bought I used to buy Makita tools but boy this is a dream to work with because of this saw I have purchased a further 6 Millwaukee cordless tools in the past few months I think that says it all.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by spencer Lightweight & Powerful, a pleasure to use
I was installing new engineered wood flooring and had been able to do most of my cuts with a miter saw & jig saw, but when it came to laying the last row I needed something else to rip the boards long-wise. I thought about getting a table saw, but the size and price for a quality one were so much higher than a circular saw of comparable quality, I decided to give this a try, knowing I had a lot of other uses for it as well. I drove right over to Home Depot and paid full price for this, which I never do, and am glad I did. This thing cuts like butter - it's quiet, extremely lightweight, but rips right through half-inch thick wood almost like it wasn't there. When I first turned it on, it was so lightweight and quiet I was starting to think this thing wouldn't cut through paper. Glad to find I was so very wrong about that. The dual power switches (finger trigger and thumb paddle) are a nice safety feature, but are so well placed that I don't have to give them much thought. Between the great ergonomics and light weight, its pretty easy to do one handed cuts if necessary.
It's got some not necessarily obvious benefits over some other saws. The blade is on the left side, so there's no looking over the motor to try to spy your cut line. The depth adjustment is on the rear, which I find much more ergonomic than front-adjusting ones. It's easy to adjust but, once adjusted, everything clamps firmly in place. If you've already invested in the Milwaukee M18 line, this thing is a steal - it costs substantially less than one of the XC batteries.
I bought a 50" clamp guide to use with this for lining up longer cuts, and its made making straight cuts a breeze. I've found that this combo can make a more than adequate stand in for a table saw on a lot of light, occasional work and is far more portable and versatile. This could never replace a table saw for many applications, but if you're thinking a table saw might be overkill for your needs, you might give this combo a try.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Cruzo Best Cordless Lightweight Powerful Circular Saw
I've never used or owned a circular saw before. But I'm very particular, and do tons of research before I buy anything. This circular saw was the perfect buy for my needs! I'm wowed every time I use it. It is compact, lightweight and powerful. Feels great in your hand, like a quality professional tool should.
I'm rebuilding my deck, cutting 2x2s, 2x6s and 4x4s. It is very stable as you guide it during a cut, resulting in very accurate straight line cuts. My first 45 degree angle cut was also perfect! I couldn't believe the precision! Every cut since then was perfect and quick. I use the Milwaukee 48-11-1828 M18 XC RED LITHIUM 18-Volt Lithium-ion Cordless Tool Battery to go with it. And with the battery attached, it is still not heavy.
The circular blade is not deep enough for cutting 4x4s, but you can still do it buy turning the 4x4 around and complete the cut from the opposite side. You'll have to take an extra care to achieve a clean cut.
I was also looking at the corded Milwaukee 15-Amp 7-1/4 in. Tilt-Lok Circular Saw (which may be a more economical choice) but it felt much heavier. It surely may be a better choice for heavier types of jobs, but for my needs the cordless is a breeze to work with and effortless.
You'll also need a charger (I use: Milwaukee 48-59-1812 M12 and M18 Multi Voltage Charger, Red) which adds to the overall cost. But I'm extremely pleased with the cordless choice as it is easy to work and walk around with.
In closing; It is powerful, lightweight, cuts accurately, easily and quickly, portable, durable, cool looking, professional grade. I also got the Milwaukee 2650-20 M18 18-Volt Impact Driver (which is amazing) and have become a fan of the Milwaukee company.
