This is a new tool for me. I I have about 2- 3 weeks with this band saw. I recently was involved in head trauma On feb 2 2/2/ all many of Milwaukee Fuel tools disappeared. I was scared to purchase new settle tank because my head still hurts and dizzy. I alway have had good experience with Milwaukee tools I still own the old 18 volt milwaukee tools drill, saw, Skill saw. Therefore I Purchased this ban-saw. This band saw cut s 11/4 galvanized pipe with little fumes ease.

This thing cuts through uni-strut like butter and all thread rod is no match for this saw. It has plenty of power for a cordless band saw. The light comes in handy when your on the lift up in the rafters. Great weight and size.

I'm a licensed electrician and I was using a reciprocating saw to cut pipe I finally broke down and bought this bandsaw, I wish I hadn't waited so long! This tool works so much better. The battery life is great, I can take it up on lifts and in the boom without cords. It's also great for cutting 500mcm wire and smaller.

I am an electrician that installs 1/2" - 3" EMT pipe almost every day. This bandsaw is just the right size for me to cut the pipe quickly and easily. I also own several Milwaukee sawzalls (reciprocating saws), but they do not cut as fast or as smooth as this bandsaw. I got this (tool only $229) Milwaukee Compact 18v size because the (tool only $139) Milwaukee Sub-Compact 12v that my friend has cuts much slower and can only cut up to 1-1/2" pipe or 1-5/8" thick unistrut. But this Compact 18v can cut much faster and can cut up to 3" pipe. If you only need to use a bandsaw once in a while I would recommend the smaller lighter Sub-Compact 12v, but if you need a bandsaw more frequently like I do; I recommend spending the extra $90 and getting this 18v. And if the company you work for doesn't provide corded deep cut bandsaws for when you need to cut 4" pipe, I would recommend getting the (tool only $329) Milwaukee Deep Cut 18v.
There is a design flaw in the Compact 18v that doesn't affect the functionality but just the aesthetics. They didn't add a metal guard to the motor housing so right after cutting pipe or strut when the bandsaw lands on the pipe or strut the red plastic housing right under the Milwaukee logo gets nicked. After 1yr it hasn't nicked through the housing, but I am worried that after many years it may become a problem. This is not a problem for the Deep Cut 18v because they used a metal chassis to guard the motor housing.

This is a great tool, extremely handy. If you purchase the tool only option, order bodes too. It does not come with one.

I work installing pv solar panels. This bandsaw has made the job easier for me lately because I can cut the rails/racking and conduit in less than half the time it used to take me with the sawzall. Totally worth the money.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by ML Convient Saw but does have a design flaw
Saw is very small and can be used anywhere. From a tool repair stand point there is a design flaw. The blade will come off while using the saw. If it hasn't happened to your saw it will. I repair tools everyday and have seen so many of these tools coming in for repair and on 99% of them it is because of the blade coming off. I have seen it in brand new tools only used once or twice and have seen it on 1-2 years old. All Milwaukee has to fix this problem is a shim. Go ahead and redesign the shaft and hub so there is no need to shim.
