This battery works just fine. In fact, it's the type of battery I used for it's first round of use. The problem isn't the power, it's the charge life of the smaller batteries. You're not going to get much of use with a single battery, maybe 10 minutes of straight use, before it dies. Highly recommend the XC series batteries, though the smaller ones worked just fine for me. Customer Reviews

Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 53 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great jig Quality tool. I will agree with other comments it is a bit heavy, but it is sturdy. July 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worth the extra money! The saw is just well designed and is a great tool. I am not a professional but I decided to try the Milwaukee brand and was not disappointed. June 14, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Broke on second cut Brand new, second test cut, torqued the blade a little and the guide shifted sideways permanently and orbital action lever no longer has an effect. I'm usually happy with milwaukee tools so I'm going to count this as a fluke unless it happens again, but very disappointed as this shouldn't really be a fragile tool. Not happy about that as I needed it for a job today. Taking it to a service center first thing Monday. Assuming that was a fluke, besides that a theoretically excellent jigsaw. I expect solid battery life like all the other M18 tools. Has all the right useful adjustments, easy to set. Wish it had a light though. October 11, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Really good. It was bigger and heavier than I thought it would be. Very stable and powerful. I'm happy! I switched to Milwaukee tools a couple of years ago and it has turned out to be a great choice. February 14, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good product Easy to use, good quality. Sturdy with out blades. January 12, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Saw Seems to be a descent saw. Works very good on craft projects. Uses a different style of blade but that's ok. Product price could be a little lower. February 11, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Product, Poor Retailing Practice This saw works so much better than the several cheaper corded ones I have owned. The base is stable and doesn't need constant adjustment and it has plenty of power. The biggest problem I have with this purchase is that it was on the shelf in a closed box in the store but when I got it home I found it had been used and returned to the shelf. There were no protective packaging in the box and no instructions- just the saw. I consider this to be very poor practice by Home Depot and will surely be checking my selections for purchase carefully before I buy from now on. I kept it this time because there is nothing wrong with the saw, it was th e last one on the shelf, and I needed one for immediate use. November 3, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by NO LED LIGHT No LED light, had I realized that it did not have a light I would not have bought it. The shield guard is difficult to see properly through. The blade is a bit difficult to get in place and you need to ensure it is inserted properly before cutting. The tool will allow a mis-aligned blade to work. Once you ensure it is correct it is fine. I have many of the other 18V tools and bought this to compliment my ability to change tools on the fly. I'm very disappointed with the lack of light. May 26, 2016
