This Milwaukee tool replaced my corded tool for 4 good reasons. First is that I am cord free now and enjoying the true mobility. Secondly, this tool has the hyper locking mechanism to change accessories which is very important to me since I had experienced the frustration of looking for the key to change the accessories in the middle of my tasks. Third is its universal adaptor that allowed me to use generic accessories and that reduced my cost since I can attach cheap brand accessories. And lastly, itâs Milwaukee, a brand I can trust.
To install electric wall switches, I had to make very precise cuts in the drywall and this tool was right on the dot with end cut blade. For sanding and polishing tasks, it did great with perforated sanding and felt polishing pad accessory. I love the extendibility of this tool and itâ ease of use. Variable speed provides me a better control in different applications and LED of course is very handy when working in tight shaded areas.
Coupled with M18 power, I am very satisfied with its performance. With battery attached, it does not feel heavy at all.
Itâs my first preference tool for quick cutting and sanding and I recommend it to all DIYers and professionals.

I'm blown away by the power this multi-tool has. I have a blue/gray brand corded mult-tool, and I'm always fighting with the cord when I'm working overhead or trying to get into cramped areas. This Milwaukee cordless multi-tool has all the power and better ergonomics without the hassle of a cord. I was also pleasantly surprised at how little vibration is transmitted to my hands.
The tool comes with a sanding attachment and a disc/triangle of 60, 80, 120 (x2), and 220 grit sandpaper. There's also a wood flush cut blade attachment and an adapter that allows you to use just about any other brand's accessories with the multi-tool.
Using a compact M18 battery pack, the tool is about the same weight as the corded multi-tool I also own. This tool has a great balance, and I discovered if my wrist starts to get tired after extended use, I can brace the back end against my forearm, giving me even more control.
With a fresh compact M18 battery, the run time was about 18-20 minutes of continuous operation at full speed while under load the entire time. If you've got a few battery packs and a couple chargers, you should be able to keep going just about indefinitely. I did notice the tool was getting a little warm at the end of 20 minutes, but it wasn't overly hot. Just make sure you don't hold it covering the air vents.
The tool-free accessory change design is awesome. Just flip up the lever and unscrew the tool hold-down (see pictures). There's even a slot in the screw that most accessories will fit in to give you a bit of extra leverage if it gets stuck. Much easier than digging around for an allen wrench to change out accessories. I haven't had an issue so far with the accessories coming loose, unlike other multi-tools I've used.
The speed selection can be varied from 1-12, and there's a separate on/off switch so you can resume at the speed you left off at. The tool stops almost immediately once you turn it off, unlike the random orbital sander I'm used to. It's nice being able to set the tool down immediately when I'm finished sanding.
If you've got a few M18 batteries and chargers already and you're considering a multi-tool, absolutely choose this one. You can't go wrong with Milwaukee, and you definitely won't miss having a cord at all!

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Nate Glad I bought it.
I often use this tool when I cut-in old work boxes. I was a little apprehensive when I bought it because I was concerned about battery life. Turns out that I can do five through 3/4" pine with plaster and lath behind it. Good enough for me!

This M18 multi-tool seems to make-up for it's bulk with plenty of guts.
After several hours of use repairing oak flooring, I have no complaints.
Fast delivery, tool adapter and low cost are all good.
This product should be on the store shelves.
At $100, if you already have M18 batteries, it's the way to go.

This is my first Milwaukee tool. As a bare tool, I did need to purchase a battery and charger which I understood up front. I like the variety of batteries and chargers available, and the batteries lock in easily and decisively to both the charger and the tool. I really like everything about the multi tool. I have a corded one as well, and I prefer the Milwaukee cordless. I like the center of balance and the excellent grip and controls. The blades attach nicely and firmly. With what I've experienced with the multi tool, I may expand to other Milwaukee cordless tools in the future. I find comfort in my choice when two of my co workers said they like Milwaukee best. I cannot say that myself as I simply haven't diversified enough yet into various Milwaukee tools. When I go head to head with identical tools and different brands, that is when the real test will come.
