It seemed a bit pricey at first just to use for drywall only work but now after having it for the last 6 months I totally believe its worth every penny for all types of work. I invested heavily into the 18v system so when this came out it was a no brianer to purchase being able to add a additional 12v/18v charger and battery to the fleet was nice as well. I don't just use it for drywall now, I use it for door and window sills, custom trim work, tile nubs, demo, architectural foam and efis work, you name it.
The blade change is much better than all the other brands i've used. you dont need anything but a penny to change the blades out, the soft start feature, power adjustment, and led light are also top notch. It lasts a long time on slim and xc battery packs too. the fabric bag is nice to have as well.
Basically, if you have limited space and you need a nice clean cuts on material that's already been installed or put up then purchase a osculating multi tool. it will be in your tool load out on each job site from now on.

I make an attachment that I fit to this tool that turns it into a high frequency muscle/body massage tool. I have found the Milwaukee unit to have the best speed control and that is an important part of how the machine works for my application. Out of the 40 plus units purchased so far I have had one machine need warranty work and 6 batteries that had broken tabs. The attachment creates a greater vibration to the operator and then the battery compared to other attachments. I now use a weight lifters wrist strap around the battery and have not had any further problem with broken battery tabs or the battery backing out.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Ellay I'm not impressed.
I got this to remove vinyl flooring from my kitchen. It took an eternity due to the approximate 10 minutes of run time. Plus, the blade isn't long enough to reach under a kitchen cabinet all the way to the kick board. And under the floor heating fins, it wouldn't reach either. When I used it to cut the bottom .5" off of the door jambs, it smoked and burned the wood. It melted the rubber tubing that lines the door without even touching it. I like it for the sanding, but those little pieces of sand paper just don't last long enough to justify the cost. And having to buy these $20 saw blades from Bosch makes no sense.

I am a hardwood floor specialist, I install and refinish floors. I mainly used cheap multi-tools from harbor freight but they kept burning up so I decided to take a chance on this kit, and I am completely satisfied. I use it mainly for undercutting door jams, but I used the sanding pads for under the toe kicks and corners and was very pleased. Great tool highly recomended

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mike Del Modesto Typical Milwaukee Tool.
Overall the tool is solid, tough, versatile, ergonomic, has a built in battery gauge, 12 speeds (5,000-20,000 OPMs). Accepts almost all brand attachments with the included adapter, w/o the adapter it only accepts Milwaukee, Bosch & Skil brands (or generic blades made to fit this particular head). Standard M12 batteries drain in 7-10 minutes of heavy work, understandably. I've found the XC M12 battery is perfect for more efficient operation of this "high output" tool. I also own a 1.5amp Dremel 6300 & a 3amp Ridgid JobMax but find myself reaching for this M12 more often than not. A 5 yr. warranty is better than most. All in all I would buy it again and recommend it to a friend or relative.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by jon1 Was assembled
The features are great, hence why I bought it. This issue is it wasn't completely assembled when it arrived at my house. I opened the box and pulled the tool out and all the screw holding the body together fell out. Not only was it hard to find the screw on the floor since they are the size of a eyeglass screw, they are all star bit. Half the screws required me to get a new bit because it wasn't a standard size. Looks like they might have sent me a refurbished unit. The screws that stayed in were worn.

This is a precision tool. As an Electrician I use it to cut into cabinetry for electrical outlets and find it has greater control than a Roto-Zip. I have also used it to notch out a beam... which was not a good idea. Since it is a battery operated tool it has a short run time when used on a high or fast setting. Have extra batteries handy. So remember... "If the only tool you have is a hammer, you tend to see every problem as a nail. Use the right tool for the right job."
