how much does the battery weigh??

Asked by: hitman
Think its about 3.5lbs, I do know this, when i plugged it into the milwaukee sawzall and lifted it my first thought was I will never buy the 9.0 as its just too heavy to work with for any amount of time. Any tool after 7lbs or so is just a waste of time IMO. And with the new 9.0 batteries all the tools will be in the 10lb or more range. I'd rather save my wrist strength for the job at hand and change the battery once a day:) As it is, my 5.0 will pretty much run all day for my needs which is building outdoor structures, patio covers, outdoor kitchens, interior remodels etc. Not sure who they built the 9.0 for but as a pro builder it actually is too much battery to weight ratio.

Will not fit all m18 tools.I love the battery for what I use it for plenty of power and last but I have the m18 led flood light the battery slot has a bar across it and the 9.0 battery it to big to fit. I fill Milwaukee should not claim it will fit all 100 plus tool when it will not. Great quality product as always just shows they don't know there stuff as well as they should for that reason only 4 stars

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I did a lot of research before purchasing this battery and while I do recommend it, I question ho... I did a lot of research before purchasing this battery and while I do recommend it, I question how feasible it is to work with the extra weight and size instead of going with 2 6A batteries for less power demanding tools. For example, if you have a brushless impact or drill, you technically shouldn't be needing a 9A battery since the whole concept of brushless is to save on power. I would definitely consider going with a 9A if you are an environment where you can't afford to charge batteries, limited to what you can carry, more colder conditions (since going to wear out quicker), using cordless tools that have a high power demand, or no electricity to charge additional batteries.

Although a bit... one of these can easily replace the 2 5.0Ah battery packs that I previously used. Although a bit heavier so it makes the smaller lighter tools more unbalanced and tiring to hold all day. I just moved the smaller capacity batteries to exclusive use with those tools and the higher capacity ones to the heavier demand tools. The 7.25 inch circular saw is a battery eater until I got this pack. Now it works all day making 100's of cuts without stopping to swap batteries. No excuses now i guess, that may not be a good thing all the time, battery needs changing won't be an excuse to take a break.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hefty Battery!! The Milwaukee M18 18-Volt REDLITHIUM High Demand 9.0Ah Battery Pack is quite a hefty battery. My Milwaukee cordless drill only came with one small battery so I wanted another battery. I opted for this 9.0Ah battery. This battery is a bit heavy but you don't need to charge it as often as the smaller batteries. I also plan on getting a cordless sawsall so I thought this would work great with that. On the battery itself, as with other Milwaukee batteries, there is a button to check the amount of power left in the battery. Like I said it is a bit heavy but to me its worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Paradigm shift in the battery world. It appears Milwaukee has set the bar in the Lithium battery world a little higher. After all any tool is only as good as the battery that powers it. While this battery seems to be the heaviest, weight wise, it also has a very high AH, Amp Hour rating. This basically means the length of time to deliver power. Another feature I like is the "Fuel Gauge". The one draw back with Lithium batteries has been they go and go , but then just stop. The fuel gauge let's you know where you stand as far as potential time of use. It makes your tool heavier, but compared to say a 4AH battery, doing the same work, the 9AH battery would probably perform at least twice as long. I have this in a 1/4" Hex impact driver and so far it has exceeded my expectations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lasts LONG time! If you are a professional, how many hours per day do you use to change over depleted batteries? Even a DYI er can appreciate being able to continue to use their tools long after the stock 1.5 ah battery loses its charge. This becomes especially important when you are using a high-demand tool like a side grinder, reciprocating saw and especially a circular saw! I used it all day to cut plywood and 2x4s on ONE charge! Now, my demand on its power as a DIYer might be less than a professionals, but it lasted and lasted!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A good idea to keep all cordless tool on 1 battery This is the battery you want on the job site when you are going to drive a lot of long screws. The battery is designed to last longer than the standard battery, but it also can be used with heavy demand tools. I live in New England and I work in a shop that has minimal heat and when the loading dock door is opened you can really feel the cold. I have recently bought the heated vest that goes with this system of interchangeable tools but the temperature has been a bit warm for this time of year.
