I purchased this impact wrench thinking how Can I justify spending this much money on a rechargeable impact wrench and how good can a battery powered wrench be..... Well I didn't know I needed one until bought one.
Wow!!!! I love this wrench. 300 ft.lbs of torque on the high setting. Have used it on several automobile projects wondering if it could handle the work load and it did with ease.
I would highly recommend this product to anyone. Just buy It!!!!! That's what I did and I love the Milwaukee m18 fuel series.

This is my first cordless impact wrench and I was skeptical of the power capability for automotive use. After using the Milwaukee 2654-22 for two auto projects and replacing blades on a riding mower, I’m quite impressed with this compact tool.
Air impact wrenches are great for breaking loose bolts, but are very lacking when it comes to fastening at specific torques. The Milwaukee 2654 has three selectable torque modes; one at 200 ft-lbs for removing bolts, and two modes for fastening (35 and 75 ft-lbs). It has plenty of power for removing wheel lugs and other large bolts, along with precision fastening. The compact size and light weight are also beneficial when working in tight spaces.
The only minor drawback with the Milwaukee 2654 is that 3/8” impact socket sets are not widely available. I found a 3/8”-to-½” adapter to allow use of my ½” impact sockets. Overall, I am very pleased with this product and recommend it for general purpose and automotive use.

Absolutely love this impact. It is the first time I have had a dedicated 3/8 cordless (have been using 1/4-3/8 adapters on a hex driver) WOW! Plenty of power (it will even remove most lug nuts. Light and comfortable to use.

Milwaukee wasn't messing around when they designed this impact wrench - it's lightweight and packs a ton of power. The batteries take about 30 minutes each to charge. I was pretty happy that the charger also included an M12 battery dock in addition to the M18 dock, since I have several M12 tools in my collection. The three fastening modes are easy to switch between, and the battery fuel gauge is a nice addition. The friction ring design holds sockets on securely while still allowing easy change-out.
I'm always skeptical of marketing claims like "best in class", etc., so I did some fact checking by looking up the torque ratings for the 18V cordless competition:
Milwaukee: 200 ft-lbs
Teal Brand: 155 ft-lbs
Yellow Brand: 125 ft-lbs
I'd say Milwaukee definitely has a solid lead above the competition when it comes to max torque!
The brushless motor will last a lot longer than a standard motor as well. It can handle just about any basic automotive work a DIY tinkerer will need it for. Stubborn lug nuts are no match for this impact wrench - I was really surprised at how much faster I can change a tire while using this tool instead of a tire iron. I just went on a week-long road trip, and I threw this impact wrench and an extra battery in the car just before I left. Since it's so compact, it didn't take up much extra space at all. Luckily I didn't need it, but it was there if I did. When I got home, I checked the batteries, and they were both still at 100% even after sitting in a hot car all week.
