Customer Questions & Answers

Does this saw include a case?

I know it says bare tool but I presume that is because it does not come with batteries or charger. Does it come with a hard case?
Asked by: AndyinNJ
No Bag No Case. HOWEVER, a $200.00 saw, MIlwaukee should include a carry bag at least. This is not an inexpensive item. Bags in China are waht One Dollar?

Can this saw be used with the batteries and charger that came with my M18 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless 1/2 in. Drill Driver Compact Kit

Some of the descriptions only list descriptions, not part numbers. I just want to be sure. Thanks.
Asked by: AndyinNJ
Sure can! As long as you're using M18 Batteries for M18 Tools you're all set and ready to tackle just about anything. You won't need to haul around different batteries for different tools - those days are long gone and I for one am sure glad of that!! Please make sure you're using M18 (LI-Ion) and NOT the old style 18Volt (Ni-Cad) Milwaukee batteries - 18Volt batteries will not work with M18 systems and the 18Volt battery's are unsafe to use on Li-Ion system and tools. M18 FUEL 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Brushless 6-1/2 in. Cordless Circular Saw (Bare Tool) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 26.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprised How Well It Cuts Cuts well and save time versus a corded saw, I should of got this saw sooner , it saves time and cuts just as good as my 15 amp corded saw.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impressed! When cordless saws first hit the market they were under-powered and only good for small jobs. My thought was until they hit somewhere in the neighborhood of 60V they wouldn't be of much use and by then it would be too heavy to justify cutting the cord. Here we are, years later, and a lot has changed. Motors have gotten better, saw blades have gotten better and battery technology has vastly improved. The Milwaukee M18 Fuel 6-1/2" Cordless Circular Saw is a lightweight saw with the power to handle a lot of cutting. I was working on a project recycling some old 3/4" plywood. The saw comes with a 24 TPI framing saw blade which I swapped out for a finer tooth, thinner kerf Diablo 6-1/2 in. x 40 Tooth Circular Saw Blade that is better for cutting plywood. I wound up cutting about: - 28 feet in 3/4" plywood - 16 feet in a double layer 3/4" plywood (1-1/2" thick) Plus a little bit of the 2x4's I was using as a cutting table. This was out in the cold and there was still 1 bar left of battery power on the XC 4.0 battery pack. The saw didn't struggle or slow down at all. In fact I couldn't move the saw fast enough to get it to bog down. I would have completely forgotten I was using a cordless tool except I kept thinking how great it was not having to worry about tripping over a cord or ruining a cut because the cord snagged. Combined with the electronic brake which stops the blade once you let go of the trigger and the thumb activated safety which must be pressed before the trigger engages I felt much safer using this saw to cut large sheet goods compared to a corded saw. Unlike most circular saws this saw has a left mounted blade much like a worm drive saw. Together with the bright LED that turns on when you press the safety switch it's easier to see what you're cutting if you're right-handed. You don't have to struggle to see the blade over the motor. This new model has an upgraded magnesium shoe compared to the older model's aircraft aluminum shoe. The magnesium shoe on the M18 Cordless Circular Saw keeps the saw light but still provides a strong, stable platform to get accurate cuts. The blade guard is also magnesium. Everything about this tool is quality. The adjustment knobs are easy to operate, the bevel adjustment and guide markings are embossed so they won't fade, the blade mounts square, an allen wrench for removing the 5/8" arbor bolt to change the blade mounts securely on the handle and it's fairly quiet for a circular saw. The hook on the handle makes it easy to hang the saw off a 2x4 in between cuts. Nice touch considering it always feels awkward putting a circular saw down since it doesn't have any flat sides while you're cutting. A nice little feature I didn't notice is it has a slot for a rip fence. The 49-22-1001 Milwaukee Rip Fence Kit will work with it since it's meant for left bladed saws. I stress tested the battery on my first Milwaukee REDLITHIUM Fuel tool and it survived. It seems like Milwaukee has done something really special with this battery. I've had issues with other well-regarded Li-ion batteries in the past. The Milwaukee 2730-20 is a great saw. Being cordless makes it even better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great saw Same as a worm saw, left or right handed. I'm right handed, like better than traditional circular saws, have had a 8 1/4" Milwaukee since early 80's (love it), this has less power but much more convenient. Quick stop blade is sweet for safety when cutting above your head.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Nice Very happy with this saw. Great power for a cordless. Prefer a blade-left saw, so chose it over the 7-1/4".

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really great little saw Good balance, lightweight and easy to control. Bought to trim doors and for small jobs, then found myself ripping 3/4" hardwood and framing with it. Battery life is quite good with large batteries, about same run time as with my m18 hackzall or 1/2" hammer drill. Much nicer than my "yellow" 18v and it's rapid battery failure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't read this review, just buy it! Cuts a 2x6 plank like butter. Whisper quiet when compared to a corded 15amp saw. I wish the bare tool had a bag to hold the tool and some extra blades. Right now I am reusing the orginal box to store the tool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Purchase This circular saw was an excellent purchase. It performed flawlessly and was easy to use. It is very high quality and very precise. I have been using it for approximately one month for several projects around the house and it has performed very well. The battery life and strength of the M18 battery unit is also excellent. One thing to consider is that it comes with a framing blade which produces a relatively rough cut. When purchasing this saw, I would recommend purchasing several other types of blades for finer cuts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Saw! I purchased this saw for daily home remodeling and interior/exterior repairs. Great product as always. The rafter hook is nice but I'd rather have a belt hook. My corded circular saws rarely leave the truck anymore. I only use the 4.0 batteries since it burns through the smaller ones pretty quick. I never have any issues since I have several batteries and usually break out a corded saw for all day cutting. My favorite saw.
