It will use any M18 battery, but keep in mind the bigger the battery the better with this tool. I have the M18 red lithium 4.0 and they work great.

I think you meant 5 Ah batteries. It can use 2 Ah, 3 Ah, 4 Ah, and 5 Ah M18 XC batteries, but for the better power and run time, you should use 5 Ah batteries.

November 15, 2015
Answer:
The 2720 is the M18 FUEL model which includes the POWERSTATE Brushless Motor, REDLINK Intelligence and M18 REDLITHIUM battery. The benefit of the POWERSTATE Brushless motor is that it supplies constant power for faster cuts and reduced heat for extended life of the tool. The 2621 is the standard M18 SAWZALL which does not include a brushless motor.

The 2720-20 features a brushless motor, while the other 2 do not. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sawzall is the saw I bought a Milwaukee impact driver and hammer drill combo with a free Milwaukee sawzall. Then I paid extra difference and upgraded to this Milwaukee sawzall. This is the saw I really wanted. First of all it is a brushless motor saw with loaded power when I used my 5 Ah battery. This saw also loaded with features, such as an adjustable shoe, belt clip, and larger rubber protector. It is a powerful saw I wanted for a long time. Just don't change the saw blade when the saw is very hot, it may melt the blade lock plastic mechanism. Wait for it cool down a little bit then change the blade to prevent the blade lock plastic melt down. October 1, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome Tool! This tool is great! Powerful. Definitely a two hander. When used properly gets the job done. Also a great pruner for tight spots trimming trees/bushes. September 7, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by best buy ever Had old one that was same brand except corded, pain to round up cords and find plugin. was a good saw.the blades and shoe were hard to change. Thats what I like about this one easy to use change blades ready to go no matter where your jobs at. August 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Sawzall ever. The battery life is better than ever. The adjustable guard is great. August 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great tool Great tool. But has a flaw when doing continued nonstop work 8+ hours. blade change gets hot and wears on inner sleeve. Hopefully next gen has this flaw fixed. December 11, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by SawZall Milwaukee all the way. Had a Dewalt XR 20 volt, motor burnt up. Milwaukee makes a better tool more power and actually built in the USA not design in the states like Dewalt. Cuts metal no problem with the correct blades attached. July 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This Saw is a MONSTER If your looking for a destructive little devil..........this tool is the one to grab! Buckle your seat belt, Betsy because this little MONSTER will chew right through anything in no time. I purchased this beast just before Christmas so I could go with the family and snatch a tree off my neighbors tree farm. This puppy cut through that pine like a butter knife slicing a stick of parkay! Go for it! You will be impressed with the speed of this tool. I even got a family picture with this bad boy after we finished trimm'in the tree for the in-laws! May 18, 2016
