There are multiple hammer drills in both lines, but yes - I've found this one to be very comparable to the dewalt offerings. I actually like this one better because of its size.

Trust me, this Milwaukee will make the Dewault look like a toy and would twist the Dewaults guts out if the 2 were hooked together and you pulled the triggers on both. Milwaukee = 725 in/lbs torque Dewault = 450 in/lbs torque, not even in the same league.

They advertise a 90-minute charge time for the 4.0Ah battery, and so far I've found that to be accurate. You don't have to wait until it's dead to charge, though - that's one of the benefits of Lithium Ion technology. It's safe to charge them as often as you like. Mine charge from 2 bars (50-ish percent) to full in about 30 minutes on the charger included with this kit.

Answer:
The tools are based on the battery, so any M18, brush or brushless tool WILL work with any M18 battery. There are several M18 battery packs out there and they are all 100% compatible with any Milwaukee tool with the M18 designation. The battery will determine how much use you can get between charges. The standard battery is 1AH (amp hour), the XC is 2AH, and the XC 4.0 is the 4AH version of the battery.

Yes. All M18 tools will work with these batteries. The M12 series is a different set, though, so keep that in mind. They use a different size and shape 12-volt battery. The included charger does charge both kinds of battery, though.

Answer:
Typically No, unless your inverter is a low amp model you should be fine. I have used mine with a 10 amp inverter and I get the same speed on the charge as when plugged in to a wall outlet at home. I see that Milwaukee has a specific AC/DC charger now:

Answer:
assuming your inverter can supply the required amperage, no. To be safe, milwaukee does offer a 12-volt charger that will draw enough power to properly charge these things. Of course, that will still be dependent on the 12v circuit you're charging from, but most vehicles should be able to supply the necessary amperage.

Answer:
No, as long as the inverter meets the recommended requirements per the owner’s manual it will function normally. The M12™ charger (48-59-2401) requires an inverter rated at 100 Watts or higher. If the customer is using a M12™ & M18™ combination charger (48-59-1812), it requires an inverter rated at 300 Watts or higher.

Only issue I had was when I picked it up from the store was the impact gun wasn't in the case. They quickly found a new replacement and I was on my way. Thank you Milwaukee and Home Depot. Awesome . Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Had to return and repurchase from store I purchased the product on line because when I searched online, the website stated it was only available as an online purchase. When we received the item, the impact driver did not work. I drove to our local Home Depot store only to find they had plenty in stock. The replacement works! I'm not sure why the Home Depot website stated this was only available as an online only item, however shipping was in within the promised time frame and it was free. May 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great purchase from a great company! I am extremely satisfied with both the brand, Home Depot and the people in the store that sold it to me. I really have little room to complain, but if I were to nitpick, there is a small scratch in the paint over the hammer icon indicating hammer drill. It really is a terrific product though and you can't go wrong with Milwaukee. Thanks to everyone who made this a terrific buying experience! April 19, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A little pricey, but worth it The drill is a beast. The brushless motor has all sorts of power. Better than the 18V green cordless I replaced. The impact driver is also really nice. Plenty of power. Will drive a 3/8 x 4" lag screw without any problem. The adjustable power setting comes in handy based on what level of power you need. I do find that the placement of the fwd/rev switch is a little too far back. I'd like it farther forward. It's smaller than my previous impact driver, but not it's not the smallest out there.
