I bought this impact and drill kit 20 days ago and the trigger failed. we took it back and got another one, used it for maybe 2 hours and the trigger in this one is failing too. I am going to get one more and if it fails I will go back to Makita. very disappointed!

I've bought this after seeing some very good reviews online. The machine is very powerful, has good grip and I appreciate it is very compact and can work in tight places. What I don't appreciate is that is noisy. But I use it to screw in to metal all day long and that's where it goes all wrong. The electronics inside are exposed and apparently metal shavings from screwing can get easily inside and short-circuit the electronic board. You can actually see the electronics trough the vents in casing. And on top of this, the kind of fault resulted in this situation is not covered by warranty. Mine stopped working after two days of use, and when that happens you are left with a very expensive, useless paper weight.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by JIM DOES NOT ALWAYS WORK AS AN IMPACT
BOUGHT THE FUEL M18 TO REPLACE MY M18 IMPACT. WANTS TO SWITCH BACK IN FORTH FROM DRILL MODE TO IMPACT. IF I WANTED TO INSTALL SCREWS WITH A DRILL I HAVE TWO OF THOSE. I WANT THE IMPACT FEATURE WHICH DRIVES SCREWS WELL. IF THIS THINGS STAYS ON IMPACT IT WORKS AWESOME. DON'T BUY IF YOU HAD IMPACTS BEFORE. FANCY CIRCUITRY HAS MADE A GOOD IMPACT INTO SOMETHING WORTHLESS. I HAVE BEEN USING CORDLESS TOOLS FOR 25 YEARS NOW.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by al the engineer great tool for building a deck
I recently built a 30 x 20 ft deck addition on my house and purchased a Milwaukee brushless impact driver with XC batteries for the project. The deck was built on 6x6 posts in concrete and 2x6 pressure treated wood for the decking to match the existing deck. I drove about 1200 3 inch screws, , approx 50 4 inch lag bolts, and 200 smaller screws. The driver was very comfortable to use and easily drove all fasteners. I did not run the batteries completely, but usually switched batteries when the last indicator was still visible. The tool fits my hand very well and although the motor became warm, it wasn't uncomfortable. I have a number of other milwaukee tools and this one is highly recommended.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Jim Great tool so far!
Bought a competitors model which didn't last 6 months. So, I decided to try this product and have been very pleased with the quality and durability of it. My chief complaint is the screw keeps coming loose on the belt hanger, and in my job, I don't have the time to keep tightening this down!! Find a different means to put this thing on, so it stays on!

I bought this impact driver to replace my Milwaukee 1 st generation lithium v18 driver. As a finish contractor I have tried many different cordless tools and decided to stay with Milwaukee. After a first charge overnight, I have used it on three half day projects doing facia replacement and installing steel conduit and metal boxes. The battery is still showing a full charge. I am so pleased of the overall proformance of the M18. I am switching over to brushless as they become available. Four stars, I wish this was made in USA.
