Answer:
2704-20 is awesome. The torque is huge. I'm just a DIY'er homeowner, but I researched each model, and just splurged for the largest one (not wgt, but torque). Knowing that this thing is gonna last me a lot of years, I just simply chose not to mess around. More than all I'll every need, for future projects. I haven't concrete drove it yet, but hammer for other usages, and it was nice.

Jerry, I suppose this question can be best answered by knowing what use you are needing. Are you looking for a M18 drill to have around the house, and use occasionally? Are you going to be on a jobsite, drilling holes, driving screws? There are a ton of questions, but in the end, it is going to come down to what you like or prefer. This Drill/Driver is a great all around drill for making holes and driving screws. Would I want to use it all day to drive screws - probably not. I would look more toward an impact driver if that is the main purpose - Although impact drivers are not the best for drilling holes.
In my opinion, you are best off getting a cordless duo that includes an impact driver, a drill driver, 1-2 rechargeable batteries, and a charger. Torque may become an issue, so I personally prefer an 18v set as it seems the best all around to me. Once again opinions, and mine may not be the right one for everyone.
Good luck with your search, and notice, that this particular drill/driver does not include a battery or a charger. Read Less

Answer:
No, this M18 1/2" Drill/Driver is not recommended for drilling into concrete. The equivalent drill that is capable of occasionally drilling in concrete is the 2607-20. However, we recommend a rotary hammer for frequent drilling in concrete.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 24 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Drill, Tool Only To start off. This is just the tool itself. No battery pack, and no bits that typically come with drills, not that there is anything wrong with that. This drill is great! I have been putting it through it's paces on some DIY projects around the house and I couldn't be happier with the product. I have dropped this a couple of times when it fell out of my tool belt and haven't had any issues aside from cosmetic scrapes. This drill has 18 settings (1 through 17+ drill). The amount of torque that is felt for exceeded my expectation for this product. There is a light above the trigger that works well in low light areas, and the drill itself is pretty light weight for the amount of power it delivers. All in all great product. November 20, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by very good drill, not a brushless motor, but very good. I needed a 2nd drill/driver so I didn't need to keep swapping between drill to driver for jobs. I wanted just the tool for the batteries I already own. I have the brushless model before I bought this one, and this one, which has the brushes for the motor rotor. Now, if you have a few extra bucks and you are going to use as only 1 drill, could be worth to upgrade to the brushless design, I think it actually is better. But for my purposes, this lesser cost model does the trick. Regarding quality of this individual drill: very, very good. Great torque, great operation, the feel is good in your hand, and I'm very satisfied with the purchase. Milwaukee really does make a quality product. My old tools were 14V B&D, and the torque on these tools are just simply awesome by comparison. Very good/professional for a battery tool. this is not a lightweight tool for light use, it's pro level, pro weight; not considered heavy, but it's not suzy-homemaker. December 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Typical Milwaukee Quality, Well Built Compact Drill for Home and Professional Use When you buy Milwaukee tools, you expect quality. This new compact drill/driver from Milwaukee (model 2606-20) doesn't disappoint. Out of the box you get the 1/2" drill/driver and that's it. No tool box, no belt clip or battery, just the drill as it says. This makes a great addition if you already own Milwaukee cordless tools and need a compact drill/driver. It's pretty much the exact same size as the other compact drills on the market. Solid construction of the case and a nice heft to the tool and grip, without feeling too heavy or too light. Of course to use the drill you'll need Milwaukee's M18 battery packs. Either regular or extended run time. The drill fits them all without issue as expected. A multi-position clutch allows you to fine tune the driver's torque so that you don't strip out your fasteners. You also have a two speed gear selector on the top of the tool to choose speeds depending on the type of work your doing or the material you are drilling. The trigger is also fully variable in adjusting speed. The LED light mounted just under the chuck turns on with the trigger and lights up any areas that may be hard to see when getting the drill into tight spots. I like this added feature on drills these days. When you pull the trigger you'll notice the gear drive is as smooth and as torquey as you'd expect from tools Milwaukee offers. It's noticeably smoother sounding than other drills I own. This means the gear body was assembled with close tolerances and it's made to last. Power is more than adequate for a compact drill in this class and at no time did we have problems sinking the deck screws into the fence with it. It's not as strong as full size drivers but you trade off a bit of power when you want a compact tool. It's no wimp though. It handles most tasks the full size ones do. I expect this will be my go to drill/driver for a long time to come. A good combination of power and size. October 22, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by QUality drill This was a replacement for an identical drill that needed to have new brushes. Running a cabinet shop could not be with out drill while old being serviced. I always buy Milwaukee, have tried other brands never satisfied. I drive 1000's of screws a year with this drill, and drill large holes for water lines when installing cabinets. The lithium ion batteries have long life, and quick recharge. This one did not come with batteries. Plenty of torque, quick speed for cordless. Light weight excellent drill. Would highly recommend. The price was great. August 18, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Milwaukee 2606-20 This is a very good drill. It got high marks anywhere I looked. The company I work for bought 2 new last month. It was good because I was in the market for a home/shop drill. After 2 months of working with this drill, I have a different view that people have not written about. Good points: Plenty of power, battery life is very good, charge time is very good, fell is very good in the hands of someone who has slightly smaller hands than most men. One of the real high points is the light turns on at the touch of the trigger and stays on for 5 seconds to help align to the mark. Doesn't seam like anything big, but in a dark area you will love this feature. Bad points: There is no tool storage for bits/screws, chuck is not industrial, but better than most home owner tools. Worst thing of all is after about 5 holes with high torque on the drill, the pressure hand on top of the drill will not be able to hold there as the end of it gets so hot you must pull your hand away. The heat dissipates quickly, but is back not long after you start again. I opted for a Porter Cable equal of this drill but do not have enough to write a review just yet. For prolonged use, stay away from this drill or get a heat glove for your push hand. Good luck. July 24, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by very good this is the third one of this brand I have used. 1, 14v.and 2,18v. also used your in house, not worth taking home! March 3, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent product An excellent product. The new drill is in addition to one I have used for the last 6 years. I am very happy with the quality and usefulness of the Mikwaukee products. December 10, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by my review I purchased the drill because I had one before and know that it is an excellent product. July 22, 2014
