M18 Lithium-Ion Cordless 1/2 in. Hammer Drill Driver Compact Kit is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful & Practical! This is a great tool: Powerful. Practical. Heavy Duty. I have a 20V Black & Decker Matrix Drill/Driver Combo kit that I've been using around the house for over a year and I really like it for the price. But this 18V Milwaukee tool is a different beast. It is more powerful, more practical and has more options: - I don't have to interchange attachments to change from drill to driver or the other way around. I can do that simply using the selector switch (see pic). - This also has a hammer option for those tasks when you need it. Just use the selector switch (see pic) - Has a selector switch for different speed ranges (0-450rpm or 0-1800rpm). - Has the option to select the different types of applications. - Has an LED light at the bottom. - Compact and fits well in the hand. Comes with: - 2 Lithium-Ion Batteries (18V) - Hard Shell Carrying Case - Heavy Duty Charger Recommended tool!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beats DeWalt in EVERY way! I've been in construction for 11 years, and have always been a Dewalt man, as is my entire crew. My Dewalt Hammer Drill died, and I found a deal on this Milwaukee too good to pass up. Best tool decision I've made to date. There is NOTHING this drill isn't better at compared to my dewalt. I'm seriously impressed, and after just 5 weeks of service, I plan to replace all my Dewalt with Milwaukee. I test drove the Dewalt equivelent, and they ARE NOT what they used to be, none of the tools seem to be. However, test driving the Milwaukee line has done nothing but put them all on my wish list, and owning one, it didn't fall short of my expectations. Kudos to the engeneering team at Milwaukee, and thank you as well. Many members of my crew have also been as impressed as I have, and several have already bought into the Milwaukee family. I suspect my entire crew will be going Red and Black in the months to come.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Power when you need it. I was building a false floor in my garage and my 12v Drill/Driver wasn't getting it done drilling holes in the foundation to secure the floor. My local home improvement store had a awesome sale on this unit that I just couldn't say no to and needless to say it is now my go to tool when I need a drill. Not only did it make securing the floor to the foundation easy but the construction of the rest of the floor went much faster. I also love that there seems to be more metal in the construction of this drill than many others that I looked at.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The Chuck(?) Broke After Two Weeks This came with my 6-Piece M18 RedLithium kit, and I was in love...until I tried using a lowly SPADE BIT to drill through some 2x4s. After a wonderful screeching/whirring sound, the drill is now unusable (my guess is a broken chuck)...after only 2 weeks! I am going to save my final jusgement until I get it fixed (hopefully, I just got the bad one in the batch) but as it stands, it gets a failing grade :( I will update my review after I get it back from it's repairs

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Hammer Drill This hammer drill has awesome power, decent battery life, and is very comfortable to use. Once again, Milwaukee has surpassed my expectations. The drill comes with a hard case, a charger, and two compact 2.0 Ah batteries. I had both batteries completely charged in under an hour. The charger can also handle M12 batteries as well. There are three selectable modes of operation: screwdriver with 18 clutch settings, regular drill, and drill with hammer action. I started with the regular drill setting, and bored a dozen holes through a 2x4 with a 1/2" bit without a problem. Then I turned the 2x4 on its side and drilled through the long way once. On the second hole it hit a knot and stalled - with enough torque to just about wrench the whole thing out of my hand. Once I turned on the hammer function, it blasted right through without another issue. In total, I drilled 12 holes through the 1.5" direction, and 4 holes through the 3.5" direction. Afterwards, the battery was registering between 1/2 and 3/4 charge - it gave me two 1/2 readings when I checked, but after 15 minutes of sitting idle it registered 3/4. Maybe hit had something to do with the battery temperature. I think the battery life is satisfactory for basic DIY use, but if you're a professional, you may want to spring for the kit with the 4.0 Ah batteries. The only disappointment I had was that the drill doesn't come with a belt clip, which I found for another $9 online. The screw holes are there for mounting one, but the actual clip isn't included with the kit. There also isn't any place on the drill that holds a screwdriver bit, but then again, it's a hammer drill and not an impact driver.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent. Strong, fast and NO wobble, lol. Very satisfying purchase. Drill is strong and very fast. Good hammer action and brake for quick stops. Light comes in handy when working in dark confined spaces. Auxiliary handle comes in handy when drilling into brick/concrete or thick lumber. And there is NO wobble from the chuck, unless you don't install your bits properly, which happened to me once or twice in the past even on other brands of drills, a common mistake when you're in the rush. At first glance, since I purchased this drill as a combo with a hammer/driver drill, didn't expect anything spectacular out of this little beast. First time I attempted to try out this drill, it was the time when I purchased impact set and a conversion kit, 1/4 to 1/2 sockets for this drill. Since I had no screws to drive in, I got one of mine impact sockets from my Nissan. I wanted to find out how loud the hammer action. To my amazement this drill unscrewed my wheel nuts which were tighten to 110 ft/lbs. XC battery pack still showed 100% charge after re-tightening. Very strong and quick drill, and very strong XC battery pack. Bottom line is, you get what you pay for. I've been using Milwuakee for past 10 years and this one is no exception, very good. If you want something cheap from Canadian T., well then you're just wasting your money on sub-standart tools which are weak and useless, and don't last. Milwuakee might be a bit on the higher price range, but quality and durability makes these tools essential, and cheaper in the long run.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best drill on the PLANET I bought a Milwaukee Magnum corded drill 30 years ago and it is practically like new, but needed a decent impact for portability. This drill is amazing, really cant believe how rugged it is and what it is capable of. A VERY powerful and well build drill. It comes with a belt clip but would be nice if there was some easy way to hang it on a 2x4 beam. Some type of hanger accessory would be pretty handy. Couldn't be happier this drill is definitely the best I have ever used. Just sayin -

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broke after 30 times m6 holes in brick and mdf. While installing my new kitchen my new milwaukee broke after drilling some holes in mdf and a brick wall. The speed change (from 1 to 2) doesnt latch anymore. It doesn't do anything anymore. Hope the supplier can fix it WITHOUT additional costs. I had to convince my wife i needed this premium tool for the installation of our new kitchen. All for nothing... I thought milwaukee was premium, guess not!
