After having used a variety of spade bits and hole saws, I picked up on this approach to boring holes.
This so much faster and easier. I am hooked. If you are concerned with splintering, pull back slightly
and slow up just prior to pushing through the other side of the board. I can't believe Home Depot doesn't stock this item on the shelf. These bits are worth the hassle of ordering on line though. I am fortunate in that we live close enough to a store to do a store pick up and avoid shipping.

The drill pulls itself through the wood.
Be sure you are in the right spot. Before you know it the hole is through.
The shank of the drill did not catch on some of my extensions.

ok... this is the best home depot product i have ever bought from. it works perfectly., very fast, and that was what i was looking for.( fastness )....
I'm very happy with the performance of the product. i have tried other similar bits from different brands and does not work as beautiful as this...
they break in half if you are not careful while driving it.
i think the steel which it is made of has no quality.

These are the best bits you can buy. If you're going through more than 3 inches of wood just back the bit out halfway thru. No need to go in reverse just back out to clear the wood chips and your good...im an electrician as well.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Fiahwink The bit does not clear the chips
If you drill through more than 3 inches of wood the bit will get stuck most times on the way out. The tapered flukes do not pull the chips all the way out. It packs them tight around the shank. When you reverse the drill to get the bit out, chips stay in the hole packed so solid it is very hard to then run the bit back through the hole to clear the chips. Works ok on a single 2 x 4, but is worthless on anything thicker. I am an electrician and need my auger bits to work better than this when drilling through anything thicker than a single 2 x 4.
