I was going to get the step bit by itself and saw the kit. You get the great bit, and some extra drill bits and a case for less than if you purchased the two themselves. The regular drill bits are nothing to get excited about but the step bits are really nice.

These are pricey, but did the job nicely. I am sure I will need them again with the various projects I am working on.

Good for everything but stainless steel (SS), the bit overheats and is useless afterwards

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by HomerDPoe Best drill bit set around!
Bought this step up set and couldn't be happier. The bits drill thru 3/8 Steel like a hot knife thru butter but faster! The step up bit is hands down the best on market and makes short work of enlarging holes. Don't go cheap on your bits, also make sure to use oil when drilling thicker Steel as it will keep the bit cool and extend the life of it.

Okay Hombrewers, I know many of you are like me and looking for a step bit to punch holes in your kettles. If you have a reconditioned keg these bits MIGHT work for you. I am using them on Stainless Steel Kettles 3mm thick and these bits are failing miserably! I have a hole in my kettle but the bit did not finish the cut, heated up and became damaged(and yes it was on a cordless drill with oil). So like an idiot, I went and bought a second set of the same bit to see if maybe I just had a bad set...NOPE same thing happened before I was finished with my second hole again!!! Well since my pot was ruined I tried a third hole and forth hole, all at different speeds, all at different pressures, and all failed to cut resulting in damage to the Drill Bit. $100 worth of damaged Bits later I am writing this review and saying good-by to Milwaukee bits...
Since this product has received so many 5 Stars I will be monitoring to ensure the reviews aren't being filtered. If they are, look to Facebook for a update because that is where ill go to post it.
