CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 2.7 out of 5 by 7 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I cannot complain I needed a product with a satin finish that would dry very quickly. I chose Polycrylic after reading the label. I sanded my yellow pine as directed, and applied a coat to both sides, including the tongues and grooves. The next day I sanded the face side with 220 and applied a second, fast drying coat. I am thoroughly happy with the result. The planks will be the ceiling in my "shed" AKA piano room. I let them dry for another day and worked on the A/C system. I have 2 more planks coming for spares, but I am sure they will come out fine. They say a gallon covers 300 square feet. I got much better than that from the gallon I purchased. I have no problem with grain not showing, or it being too glossy. I think the product worked excellently for a brush on application. June 12, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Scraches easy Does not protect. Used it on the inside window frame/ bench. Very dissapointed. It can be scrached with finger nail! July 19, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by disappointing result I thought I'd try this water-based clear finish for an Ikea unfinished table. Eight (yes, 8!) coats later and the result is nowhere near what I'd get with an oil-based finish. And I followed instructions, sanded between coats...then I just gave up. July 9, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by dulls the look of the grain Good product if you must have something that dries fast with low odor. But, if you want to see the grain of the wood, it dulls it quite a lot...not nearly as good looking as poly or laquer, in satin or clear...or flat for that matter. April 16, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by great product easy to use, dries fast, durable, easy clean, doesn't change wood color. Satin has just the right amount of shine, between flat and semi gloss, not too shiney. A little pricey though. November 4, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by good product I use this product all the time for displays and plaques. I have to put 3 coats and sand in between. I never could brush it, but a sponge brush did work ok. Now I spray it using a cup gun from tractor supply and it works really well. I have thinned with water in the hot Texas summers, because it dried so fast. It does dry fairly fast even though its water based. 1 to 1 1/2 hours in winter at 40 degrees or so. 30 minutes or so in the summer 90 to 100 degrees. The longer you wait the better the finish is. I am always pressed for time. December 8, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by satin is not satin For the fifth time, I bought a gallon of clear satin and ended up with a semi-gloss. Miniwax must frequently mislabel their product. May 9, 2013
