I checked for a topcoat that would help protect a oak table I was redoing plus endure the abuse it would need too handle, so this product met what I needed.
I read online and on the label that the product would yellow light colored stains/wood. This project I did was a dark color so the yellowing was not noticeable.
The urethane spread rather easily with a natural bristle brush, much better than a synthetic bristle brush which was more difficult to spread with less coverage. Natural bristle brush had a much better coverage and cleaned up better also.
Put 2 coats on and used a 220 grit sandpaper to prepare the surface for another coat and it was great for the end result.
The table looks brand new and the topcoat is noticeable and helps it "pop".

I used this product on a bench I refinished. I used min wax white base coat stain as per instructions. After reading on label of spar urethane I put a coat on the bench After 24 hrs I looked at the bench it has yellowed bad. I contacted min wax they used every excuse to blame me for the yellowing. That you can't put product over white paint and there white stain isn't for outdoor use. I will never use min wax products again. So to sum it up be very careful about how spar urethane is used on your projects. I would look for another companies product to do the job.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by John Fantastic product to apply, levels nicely, good open time
I'll never use another urethane product, spar or poly, after applying this. This goes on very well, doesn't run and levels nicely leaving no noticeable brush Mark's that I can see. It was easy to go back and brush out the product 1-2 minutes after applying since open time is more than adequate. Product dries to touch in just an hour or so but gave it about a day between coats. Two coats probably would have been plenty, but I easily got three coats on a wooden Adirondack rocker using thin coats of the product and sanding with 220 grit between each coat.

This stuff is great, follow the instructions and you will be impressed. I used their stain and you need the new pre-stain they sell. Makes it go on so much smoother and no "blotching" issues. It is worth the money.
I refinished a 18 year old wood exterior door. Sand it well and all will be OK.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Rodster Great results for outdoor wood protection
I used this product to protect wooden rocking chairs that I stained with a dark stain. They sat out on a front porch all summer and held up great. Maybe it does dry yellow but over a dark stain I couldn't tell. The rocking chairs were in dire need of stain and protection and this brought them back to life. I will probably add another coat in the spring just for added protection but probably wouldn't need to. A good investment to save a pair of wooden rocking chairs!
I would give it 5 stars but can't compare to other brands which could be better or worse.

Purchased this to seal a distressed white planked wall. Specifically bought this since it says it dries clear so that I wouldn't alter the look of the wall... I even thinned it out so it wasnt too thick but it still dried yellow. Now I have to redo the entire wall. Horrible mistake trusting this "clear" product.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by RenoRustic Leaves project tinted yellow
I purchased this as I had run out of my normal Spar Urethane from a different brand. The reviews of this had typically been pretty solid, plus I like Minwax stains so I figured I'd give it a go. The project I needed it for was painted white. Immediately upon putting this on my project it appeared to be a bit "dirty" where I had stained. Knowing that things can dry differently than they look while wet, I figured it would dry clear. Instead it dried and left the project with a slightly yellowish tint. Luckily the project was distressed, so it didn't affect the overall look, but if I needed to maintain the color, this definitely would have ruined my project. That being said, it dried very smooth and appears that it'll hold up well. Unfortunately, based on the yellow it leaves behind I won't be using this again or recommend it.

I recently restored a couple wooden signs (exterior) and needed a clear coat that protects the paint and wood underneath. That's when I came across this product, which works very well (so far). It forms a plastic coating that's very tough and waterproof. Even after just one coat of this stuff it turns into hard plastic. It dries really fast, so work quickly! And you have to use paint thinner to clean up your brush, or throw the roller away after just one application. This stuff is super sticky...
The only real bummer is that it is NOT completely transparent, so whatever is underneath will be stained slightly brownish! My signs had some white and light-blue areas which are now slightly tinted :( I would recommend this product over natural wood finishes, where it should bring out the color in the wood. But then again, you can use it for just about anything, since there is no better product out there (at least not to my knowledge). I would use it again!
