Purchased can of satin finish several months ago and recently used it to finish off an oak curio case. Made sure I followed directions to shake properly (one minute) but noticed product was sensitive to the angle can was held, despite repeated shaking (10 sec.) between coats.
Finish is true satin, perhaps slightly more gloss than flat depending on how much build up is created. HD site states 2 coats can be done in 2 hours - can states that items can be recoated in 30 minutes and handled in 24 hours. Under ideal conditions, light coats dried in 20-30 minutes, allowing quicker recoat time.
Never much impressed with other Minwax products, was pleasantly surprised with the results obtained and would use again for small projects requiring quick turnaround. A good combination of good results, protection, ease of use and production time.
