For the people who are complaining about the finished color - the package says that you can blend it with other pencils for a better match. Yes, you need to buy more than one and make a few test batches, but it's really a malleable putty so that should be fine. "Pencil" is just the marketing name. I drilled a hole in the wrong location in some new furniture for some hardware. Grabbed one of these, and peeled back some of the "pencil" to expose more product. I ripped it into smaller pieces and forced them into the drill hole, then screeded the top with a sharp knife being careful not to scratch the finished wood. It was an 11/64 hole, so bigger than a penny nail, but still not large enough for fibrous filler. Yes, if you look dead at it knowing it is there you can see this, but from an angle, in a half-lit bedroom, you can't see it at all. Good stuff if you know what you're looking for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use Important match the right pencil to wood color buff and reapply like waxing a car

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did not make a bit of difference. As another reviewer said, the driftwood shade is too light and the ebony is to dark for an espresso table. I bought the driftwood and did not see any all! So disappointed! They need an espresso shade

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Why No Espresso Shade?? Pencils themselves work well but the ebony shade is too dark and the walnut one is too light for much of the dark brown / espresso furniture sold today. Wish the manufacturer would consider adding a shade given furniture color trends.
