Product Overview

Miracle Fruit are beneficial to chemotherapy patients, diabetics and dieters. The fruit contains a unique glycoprotein called miraculin that inhibits the tongue’s perception of sour flavors. The effects are experienced by moving the pleasant tasting fruit over the tongue and then discarding the seed. For up to an hour all bitter and sour flavors will be masked and everything consumed will taste sweet. The fruit are commonly used as a novelty, but they are also valuable for medicinal and dietary purposes as well. Miracle Fruit can mask the metallic flavor food gets after a chemo treatment, thereby acting somewhat like an appetite stimulant. By eliminating that intense metallic flavor the overwhelming sense of nausea and aversion to food vanishes. Chemo patients are able to enjoy a simple meal after using a Miracle Fruit and this can help improve quality of life, reverse unwanted weight loss and help speed recovery. Miracle Fruit can help diabetics and dieters naturally reduce or even eliminate their sugar intake without sacrificing their favorite foods, drinks or desserts. It is not an artificial sweetener. It is an all natural way to enjoy sweet flavors and keep blood glucose levels in the target range without the risk of overloading with unwanted carbohydrates.

  • Make sour taste sweet
  • Alleviates some side effects of chemotherapy
  • Diabetics and dieters can use them to reduce sugar intake
  • Best grown in a pot with filtered light and make perfect patio plants
  • Plants are fruit bearing age already and fruit throughout the year
  • Make great gifts

I say it this way because not everyone gives the same care to their plant as another, so while one may not fertilize often, another may, so the one that fetilizes will see a 2 foot tall tree sooner than the one that doesnt fertilize. Another may keep their plants indoors year round in a cool environment while another keeps their plant outdoors in parial sun throughout the growing season, bringing it in for the winter. So the one that gives the plant outdoor time will see significant growth and reach 2 feet sooner than the one kept indoors year round in cooler temps.
So you see, there are many factors that determine the WHEN of this plants fruiting age or size.
One persons tree, seed grown, could take three years to reach fruiting age while anothers would take 4 or more. It all depends on the persons husbandry practices. Read Less

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 15 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by surprise purchase I was looking for miracle fruit plant to buy when someone told me Home Depot has it. I was so glad and ordered 3 plants. They arrived in perfect condition. I planted it in a bigger pot and after two weeks, new leaves started coming out. September 25, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Just like picture in description The plant was very well packed and in full leaf with sturdy woody stems like the picture. I am going to plant it a container and put it on my front porch (partial shade). I was leary about ordering online because of the comments about getting a bare stem so I only ordered one. Wish I had ordered two. I am going to HD this afternoon and check with the garden center to see if they are going to stock it. I have been looking to buy this plant for two years. This is the best price for size of plant that I've seen. They bear fruit when they are about two feet tall. Mine was about 19" so I hope it will bear fruit this year. They have to be in containers in Ohio (zone 6) so the I also had to make the commitment to bringing them inside. (love gardening but I don't do houseplants.) I will update the review in the fall and post another picture. April 4, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Totally Impressed! I am So impressed! I placed my order Monday night and received my Miracle Fruit plant Wednesday! The plant looks Exactly like in the photo - how often does that happen? Perfectly packaged. Excellent value, Super fast shipping, & well-packaged. Definitely recommend the Home Depot online plant center and I will be back! :-D July 2, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Plant for Great Value! Arrived within several days of ordering in great condition. It's been a few months now and the plant is doing great with lots of blooms and a fruit on the way! It's a temperamental plant and I have worked hard to keep it alive with watering/fertilizing/light etc. but worth it! This was the best deal I found for this plant and although I was skeptical of ordering online, I would definitely do it again! December 4, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wow! Very healthy plant I was so impressed with the condition of the packaging and the actual plant. I've done (discount) mail order plants before and none of the plants ever arrive in this size fully leafed. I've received 3" twigs in 2" pots. At $20, this is a great buy. Received free shipping since I ordered with other items. This was an awesome Christmas present for myself. December 9, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by 3 plant all dried and died i order 3 plant waited 6 days they all arrived dried and died i don't know how can they send out plant like that? i will not recommend this plant to anybody and will not order live plant from home depot in the future again. end up bring to local store to return waste of time... Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by "TOTALLY BEYOND WORDS" - impressed!!! I was, to say the least, VERY skeptical about ordering two of these through anything other than some well-known online nurseries. HOME DEPOT?? C'mon. They are where you go for home repairs and improvements, NOT where you buy plants online. BUT - price won out. I figured whatever I got I could try to nurse back to health to save some money, and was prepared to do so. What I GOT????? WOW. Just....WOW! Fully leaved, VERY well packed, VERY healthy......they were both absolutely "show off in beautiful pots on the porch" ready right out of the box!!! SO - that is exactly where they are right now - already in beautiful pots, framing my front steps beautifully, two days out of the box!!! I am SO VERY impressed, Home Depot. I am gladly eating my words about being skeptical, and I am back today to peruse MORE plants. SO. VERY. IMPRESSED. April 26, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Passion Fruit tree for patio The 2 plants arrived on time and must say were packed well. I am surprised how well these plants survived the long shipment time. The plants were a nice size and the branches were full of nice green leaves. Several of the leaves in one plant started turning a red color and still has that color, so I am not sure if that is just the way it is supposed to be. Otherwise, I was very pleased with the plants.
