1.5 cu. ft. Organic Choice Garden Soil is rated 3.2 out of 5 by 43.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not much better than a bag of mulch I wish I could attach a picture. This stuff is mostly wood chips. I followed the directions, but my raised bed garden is producing poorly. Due to the amount of wood in this product, my plants are having a hard time taking up nutrients and it dries out quickly. I bought 20 bags of this mess and pretty much have a non producing garden. Don't Waste Your money!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from GREAT soil! I just purchased the raised beds, and had to fill them with soil, as the ground in my area is primarily made up of clay. I've seen some strong rooting in my plants, but I do have a few small issues: 1) The price is not fantastic, if you end up having to buy several bags. Believe me, it begins to add up. 2) One bag I bought had a bunch of small stones in it, as well as some used candy wrappers. Yeah. I spent 20 minutes picking out the rocks. Now, that was only ONE bag, but it was still annoying. 3) As great as this soil is, (and it is! I mean, I still buy it!) I feel like your best bet is to buy this soil, and then supplement it with even more bags of a nice humus & manure mix. Home Depot also has a couple of types of this. Not a WIDE variety, but what they have is good. I've also mixed that with Bone Meal. That trifecta of the organic soil, manure & humus, and bone meal, has brought me a very nice start indeed to my summer garden. Conclusion: If you're looking for a one-stop-shop of soil, this may not be it. But if you're willing to put in a little elbow grease, you can really make it work!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Heavy on wood, light on compost... but still good For a raised vegetable garden, it's a good base soil for the bulk of the bed (especially if you find it on sale) but I recommend mixing in a nice 1 inch or so of good organic compost. If you can find a blended one made from various manures as well as food waste your vegetables thrive. You may also want to consider adding some peat moss for some added moisture retention. For those that can't, don't or won't read the bag does include a symbol that will hopefully make you realize this is NOT FOR CONTAINERS. According to the bag the ingredients vary by location. I'm in Texas so the product available from other locations my vary from my pictures.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The product is loaded with wood mulch The bag that I purchased was loaded with chipped up wood and sticks ranging in size from 1-4 inches. The bag indicated organic garden soil, and that is not what was inside the bag. It will take many many years for the wood components to decompose. I am going back to the store from which I purchased this product and will ask for a full refund. I would not recommend this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not What I Expected From Miracle Gro We bought 10 bags of this to fill our brand new raised beds. Had I been home when the soil was put into the beds I would have shouted "hold it!" when seeing the quality, but I was not home so the beds were filled. This soil has a great amount if large wood chips in it. It looks horrible. I tried growing peppers and herbs and they turned yellow and died. Our newly landscaped garden is an embarrassment!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wood chips mostly Last year I purchased 50 bags of Miracle-Gro Organic Choice Garden Soil. The bags contained little soil and a lot of wood chips. By the end of the season, the soil was washed down with watering while the wood chips all remained on the surface. Now, by next spring, the wood chips have mostly decomposed . So, the soil level in my garden has shrunk to the same level where I started in the spring of last year. I would buy another brand of soil this year and would NOT recommend Miracle-Gro Organic Choice Garden Soil to other gardeners

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst year ever Thought it was time to replenish my veggie garden soil this year. Added several pallets of this mix according to the proper amount for the size of my garden. This is the worst my garden has ever done. Tomatoes aren't even half the size I normally have and have not yet flowered. Half of my other vegetables have died. I usually bring in a ton of pole beans July-the first frost and they haven't even started to climb the trellis. I have wasted so much money on seed and soil this year. Its a total loss. Going to be researching other fertilizer methods for next year.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from organic is the buzz word and I am trying to eat healthier foods so far I am seeing good results with this being mixed into my regular garden soil. One question/answer I did not find on the package label is regarding the manure - does this manure come from non-chemical grazing land? If it is a by-product from the feed lots then the organic label is misleading.
