Customer Questions & Answers

Why can I no longer find this product?

Asked by: Commanche
Certainly it is not used the same way according to the label instructions. The original product was just added to the water used for watering the plant. The new product says spray the foam on the soil, then rinse it off the foliage. Seems like a lot of unnecessary bother.

How long does this product remain good

I have some from a couple of years ago. Is it still viable, potent enough to work?
Asked by: bsnow
Our liquid plant foods have a minimum shelf life of 3 years when stored properly. These types of products will generally be viable for 5-8 years after purchase, but we do recommend using them within 3 years of opening.

8 oz. Liquid Houseplant Food is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 167.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Leaked everywhere and was a soupy mess. I was really hopeful for this product since MiracleGro is a brand I've always relied on. I bought this for one of my plants since it was looking a little sad. When I got it, it had leaked all over everything and I ended up with only a little bit left. I was very disappointed with the watery quality of the food as well. Is it supposed to be foam or liquid? Anyway, I would be willing to give this product another chance if I notice growth in my plant. I wish I had more left though.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from PLEASE BRING BACK THE HOUSEPLANT FOOD IN DROP FORM I am not satisfied with this product at all and will not buy it again. Your houseplant food in drop form that was mixed in water was truly a miracle of a product. I frequently bought it for family and friends to introduce them to a product that really produced great results. Now, I'm scouring the Internet to see if I can find a supplier who still has the drops in stock so I can stock up. I don't understand why companies will try to improve a product that doesn't need improvement.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No! Bring back the liquid drops, please! The foam is useless and appears to be a way to get consumers to use more product up faster. The drops were so easy to use and lasted forever. I'm so upset! The drops were such a great value and product. Bring back the drops, please. I will not use this foam and I will no longer consider Miracle Gro products because of this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This stuff sucks. I've been using the discontinued drops in the tall bottle for 10 years or more with never a problem, rapid watering, no mess. This new stuff is baloney, the foam doesn't go where you want it, it gets on the floor, on the leaves, it looks disgusting. Why did you change? I used the foam and ONLY because I am going on vacation and want the plants fed did I go back to buy the blue crystals; it took me 40 minutes to find a container then to measure and water all the plants; this took 5 minutes with the drops. You've lost a customer because I'm going looking for someone else's product that available in a reasonably sane means of use.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from terrible product This product is terrible to use, messy, difficult to apply, and my plants don't seem to respond to it. Very poor value it only lasted a few months as apposed to the old liquid would last me a year and a half. bring back the liquid.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Please bring back the liquid form! I have not even bought this product because, as other reviewers have stated, it would be a nuisance to use. I have used liquid Miracle-Gro for over 30 years, both for my extensive collection of indoor plants and, during the warmer months, for my many outdoor hanging baskets and potted annuals. Because I use so much, I always buy multiple bottles, and always lay in a large stock for winter, because the garden center from which I buy closes from Christmas Day through March. The liquid Miracle-Gro is a superior product. In fact, it is perfect. Why mess with a good thing? Please produce it again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible This product is an absolute joke. So now instead of watering my 30 or so houseplants with just a watering can I now must carry the foam bottle too? It is very messy and gets all over the leaves so then I have to insure the foam is taken off the leaves... Someone in R & D surely messed up an already great product not to mention I guess no consumer research was done either! I have watered my plants twice with the foam and have already gone thru a half of bottle!!! You expect me to buy 2 bottles a month???? Not going to happen. Some companies will do anything for a buck I guess...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bring back the liquid! I agree with all of the reviews. I have used the Miracle Grow liquid plant food for years with wonderful, consistent results. Why discontinue such an effective, popular product? The foam is messy, difficult to use on full plants such as ferns, and is used up quickly. Fast depletion of the bottle only benefits the company, not the users. Since so many people are dissatisfied with the foam, I hope you will truly consider bringing back the liquid. Sometimes a change only for the sake of change is not a good thing.
