Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great results for first-time vegetable garden I ordered and planted this set mid-June 2014 in a raised garden bed. I literally read the labels for spacing and planted the garden. I had so many plants that I had to move the tomato plants to separate containers. Everything took off and I was amazed at the quality and quantity of the produce. I purchased a couple of squash and zucchini pods to add to the garden. I can't tell you how pleased I am with the process, just put in good soil and water. Next year, I will be building larger beds and planting earlier. The only complaint was that I planted things that come up (yellow squash and watermelon). Because of the cool weather, my tomatoes are just coming in. September 10, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Groables Salad and Herb Garden Kit These are cute little biodegradeable planting pods with the sod and seeds already set and ready to water and watch grow. They would make a good teaching tool for people working with children and are great for smaller areas. My gardens are long established and growing outside already so I chose to use my Hydroplanter that I got from Home Depot and a herb garden planter also from Home Depot to grow the seed pods. Within days I began to see sprouting and now the plants are actually taking off and beginning to grow rather well. August 1, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by THESE GRO-ABLES WORK IN CONTAINERS AS WELL! I have a very small yard with no room for a vegetable garden, so these Gro-ables lend themselves really well to container gardening. That said, when growing these in containers, make sure to pay attention to the spacing required, that is, the amount of space needed between each Gro-able. This varies and is marked clearly on the side of each Gro-able (see photo). Once you've decided where to plant - in the garden or in containers - simply peel back the top of the Gro-able pod, push the pod into the soil, place in a sunny spot, and water regularly. I kept the pod tops and set them in the containers with each vegetable so I knew what I had planted and where. The pod top also tells you the time it will take the pod to germinate the seed, and how long after that before you should expect to harvest. I made myself a "chart" so I could track when each herb or vegetable should be ready for harvesting (photo). I still have a few weeks to wait, but already my snap pea, cucumber, and spinach plants are popping up, and I'm sure the rest are not far behind. May 20, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Instant garden I got a late start on planting my garden this year and this product got me in just under the wire. I tilled my raised bed and simply popped the pods into the ground and watered. Easy peasy. April 10, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very Cool Concept! These planting pods make gardening very easy. Clever concept, if they grow. Too early to tell as we just planted yesterday. They are guaranteed to grow, so that's a big plus. The pods biodegrade as the plants grow. May 4, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Easy way to a green-thumb This set is a good way for a complete novice to get into the world of gardening. I have never planted anything in my life, and by using the salad and herb garden kit, I was able to grow lush lettuce without much effort. The directions were very straightforward and easy to follow. Sadly, the lettucewas the only thing that actually did grow. This did peak my interest in vegetable gardening, but next time I will probably go with regular seeds that are a fraction of the price. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by So convenient! I couldn't wait to grow these pods in my garden! I love the ease of just planting the whole pod (minus the lid) into the ground and just let them grow! At first I was a little concerned because the lid said "minimum of two seeds" but I didn't need to worry. There were plenty of seeds in each of the pods that I have grown so far. The different varieties of lettuces are thriving and my herbs and tomatoes are growing very well, too! The variety of seeds allows me to pick and choose when I want to plant the pods- and even to share a pod or two with friends. I would whole-heartedly plant these again next season! June 19, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect Product for Beginners I don't have a green thumb, so growing stuff from seeds is scary for me. In comes Gro-ables. Through last fall and current spring, I have tried every single type of seed that came in this package and all were perfect. My favorite back in fall was the Basil, the best plant I have ever seen. Currently, I have the lettuce and snap pea plants coming out very strong. Also, both the tomato varieties did very well for me. Highly recommended for someone who wants to start their own salad and herb garden with minimal effort. March 27, 2014
