Asked by: Swaste
After reading CF's comment above, I dumped by recently purchased bag on a tarp before putting in my planter and sorted through it and also found several bits of plastic waste in mine. I can't believe this product is OMRI listed for organic use...

I bought this by mistake instead of garden soil, would this work well as garden soil? I'd like to avoid dragging the heavy bags back to the store for exchange.
Asked by: PCTech
Works better than the garden soil. With the garden soil you will need to mix in manure to grow vegetables.

The plants I started inside went into this garbage 1 month ago and have not grown 1" since. It actually looks like my tomato plants are dying and my peppers have not grown at all. My strawberries literally have not moved. Today I finally went out and purchased all sorts of amendments and fertilizers to try and save my raised beds as I've invested hundreds of dollars at Home Depot into my vegetable garden already (raised bed, soil, seeds, fertilizers, etc.) Home depot, I want my money back for this topsoil you're selling as organic raised bed soil.

I had used one bag of this product to add to my raised beds last year, and while it was a bad year for the plants, I did not think to blame the soil... until now... I was shocked to find a plastic water bottle and other stray plastic fragments in the NEW bags I purchased just recently! I should have believed the bad reviews. An entire plastic bottle; I am so disheartened by the Miracle Grow company. Shame on you.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from OMRI Listed? I recently purchased three bags and noticed they do not have the "OMRI Listed" certification printed on the bag as the website images show. Can you confirm this product is actually OMRI listed?

First note that the only good reviews are labeled "Customer review from scotts.com". After purchasing 6 bags, I now believe the poor ratings. Water pools up on the top of this "soil". It was dusty and full of white mold. I mixed it with some good compost, hopefully that will help. Scotts should pay us for hauling this stuff away.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Believe the bad reviews This is my first year with a raised garden. I used the Kellogg brand to fill most of the garden. Then to fill it the rest of the way I used the natures care organic by miraclegro. Now I have plastic, rocks, and today I found some metal. The Kellogg's brand I used in some pots and in starter pots. I have found no trash or rocks. I was concerned because they both had wood chips. But according to the web that is good in a raised garden. I guess I will see.

I am here to say, that the tomato plants in my raised bed are growing better than any tomato plants I have ever grown. They look beautiful. My pepper plants are also growing. The soil looked good right out of the bag. There was not a single foreign object as mentioned by others and there are currently no weeds growing in my bed. I'm very happy. I will try to update later in the season and will see if I can add some photos.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nothing is Growing This is my first time going organic instead of using the regular miracle grow soil and the results have been terrible. All of my seeds germinated but nothing is growing. The plants i purchased from Home Depot are not growing either. 15 bags might as well have been sawdust. I just ordered a few bags of recharge to attempt to remedy the situatuon but I am afraid too much time has already been lost.
