rain

Can I feed plants with the feeder right before it rains or do you need to wait to use?
Asked by: Coqui
Strictly speaking, it is not normally necessary to water plants before or after using plant foods. However, if the soil is very dry beforehand or if plants are suffering from drought stress, be sure to water the plants first. Give plant a little time to absorb the water before feeding. Rain before or after application is fine. If you know there will be heavy rains, however, you may want to delay feeding until after the rain.

Anyone have recommendations on how to troubleshoot this feeder's leakage problems?

Asked by: Jim
It worked once it was attached securely and the water pressure was turned up higher...but that's just to stop the leaking. It's rare that you'll see a consistent stream or spray of smurf water. It's here and there and not enough to feed your garden. I seemed to be wasting a lot of water.

Does this product contribute to fertillizer run off?

Asked by: Concerned
I would not think so. Product is measured and should be absorbed by plant if applied per instruction. The rest is wTer.

Next Generation Garden Feeder is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 503.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from LEAKS BADLY AT HOSE CONNECTION - GET SOAKED EVERYTIME YOU USE IT I returned 2 sprayers for leaking at the hose connection. All the other leaking posts here are correct. I finally discovered that once the hose is connected, turned on, back pressure builds and stops the leak. The new self collapsing self retracting hoses take so long to build pressure that you get 5-10 seconds of blowback water on you. EVERYTIME you turn water on or off with sprayer and hose connected, you GET SOAKED. There is no by-pass setting so you MUST disconnect the feeder if you water daily and feed every 7 days as recommended. BADLY DESIGNED product. Our parents generation sent us to the moon. Our generation cant even make a leakfree sprayer. Oh how America has fallen.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from @nd one didn't work either So its not like I have all the time in the world to continue to return poorly produced products. BUT WHEN TWO IN A ROW don't work it's time to comment. Both feeders leaked, nay, sprayed water out between the hose attachment and the body of the sprayer. I took the first one back and just tried the new one and the same problem. Hardly any water is getting to the sprayer and I m soaking wet.. What a joke. I like there concept. JUST WISH IT WOULD WORK.......

This the fourth or fifth version of the product we have purchased in the past seven or eight years. They do the job as advertised but only last about a year or so. The hose connection is some what weak and has to constantly retightened every time it is used. The fertilizer is our favorite and the feeder is the only way to use it. We would still recommend the feeder

I have a large yard with lots of flowers in it and this made it so much easier to fertilize everything in a short amount of time. If you don't have one and you like to have a colorful yard I suggest you run out and buy one now!

This particular model did not seem to work well- dribbly at times as if the correct "spout" was not properly set. I had an earlier model that worked well. It got the job done but was messy. Might be easier to just use a bucket/watering can to fertilize.
