Hello Pitch,
You can either mix in a watering can or use the miracle grow hose attachment system in which you would put the dry powder in before attaching to hose.
Thanks for the inquiry,

Answer:
Yes. I have a pump type garden sprayer and I have used it for years and it works great. Just be sure to read the directions and mix the correct amount of fertilizer to water ratio. Make sure you rinse the sprayer completely if it has been used to spray weed killer or any other chemical

I was told for my application not to use a powder or liquid plant food, but to use a granular style food. Does this product fit that description?

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This stuff works - plants love it. I've been using MiracleGro plant food for years in a variety of ways, to reinvigorate plants in trouble, to start new plants, to promote new plant growth after trimming, and to overall improve the health of plants. You can see the difference, and I've actually tested it on two side by side planters, where over the course of a month the one treated about once a week with MiracleGro was far larger and healthier than the one that was not. You can use this general purpose fertilizer on almost any plant variety, although they do make difference kinds for specific kinds of plants. Simple to use, put a scoop of product in a watering can using the included measuring scoop, fill the can with water, and you are good to go. I apply it as I would normally water any plant, at one or two week intervals. June 15, 2016
