Rated 3 out of 5Â by maggiel Tilt top is a GREAT feature
overall quality good ?? Has a major problem with its elect. starter. We have had 4 of them with the same starting problem . When you try to start it, after being unused for a long period of time , it will ignite ,but when you release the starter button it will shut the gas off. I was able to overcome the problem a couple of times by holding the elect. starter button in for a VERY long period of time. In two other instances I had to return the units to Home Depot. We own 4 of these units because they are the only ones on the market (that I am aware of) with the tilt top ,to direct the heat,( which is wonderful feature!) If Home Depot did not stand behind this product I would not purchase another one.

So far this product delivers as expected and having the movable heat shield to direct the heat is great! I have been able to enjoy a cigar in 25 degree weather with just a sweatshirt and this at full blast. Some wind will have an impact not only on the heat but also potentially in the flame going out, which is a good safety feature.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by LDS3 Awesome! Tilt feature a Must!
This heater is fantastic! My husband & I have been wanting a patio heater for quite some time, but I'm so glad we waited as this is the 1st and only one I have seen that tilts which makes a HUGE difference. I didn't know if the tilt feature would really make that much of a difference, but now I can say it DOES! It really directs the heat so much better than if it is just in the straight up and down position. I love that you don't have to be standing or sitting directly under it to get the warmth (turning into a "hothead" like with those that don't tilt ). We can sit at our patio table and have the heat directed right at us, warming us down to our toes almost. The other night I went in the house for a cocktail :) and when I went back out, my seat cushion was actually warm (who doesn't love warm buns :D ) The top has 3 notches, 1 for the straight up and down position, then 2 more for tilting it up to different levels. Also, we don't have to crank it up to high, tilting the top puts out a lot of heat at low/medium which saves on propane. I gave it 4 stars on quality as the door doesn't seem to "fit" perfectly, it's a little crooked, but not so bad that I would return the unit. It seems to be quite sturdy. The base is very heavy (think like 80 lbs or something) and we live in a rural area where we get some pretty high winds...so far it's stayed in place in a corner of our deck. It also comes with a cover (just for the top part) which is kind of a pain to get on, but it is nice that it was included. The 2 wheels on the bottom make it easy enough for me to move by myself. We have been using this heater quite frequently and now I know I would never get one that doesn't tilt to direct the heat. Even my 72 year old Mother who gets cold quickly and my 9 year old Beagle who prefers the couch if it's below 60 degrees were warm and cozy sitting by it on a very chilly night . My mother kept saying "Wow, I can't believe how much heat that puts out".
Home Depot had the best price, shipped it quickly, and we received it in less than a week. I think this is one of the best purchases I've made in a long time. BTW, my husband and son put it together in under an hour.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Caulkman Fantastic heater
Bought this heater for my carport (man cave) so I could watch tv when it was cold outside. It has worked great. Just enough that my wife even comes out to watch with me. The directional hood is a fantastic feature. You can direct the heat right where you want it. Would highly recommend.

Rated 2 out of 5Â by Kevblues Had some problems
We had 2 main problems with our heater, First it would not work when it got really cold outside below 40 degrees. It would not stay lit. As soon as it warmed up outside, it would start right up with no problems. Very frustrating. Also the second problem was the top of the unit started rusting within 3 months and we had it covered...note that it probably rusted faster for us because of the salty air where we live.
