The trap is easy to use and assemble.
The machine just did not attract the blood suckers that I wanted to Kill so badly.
If I had to put a price on the Mosquito's that did find their way into the trap They would be worth approximately $30 dollars per Mosquito.
I do not know how this machine works in the south But Here in So Cal It just did not draw them in'
I did try several locations and used 3 tanks of propane and We still are getting eaten by the Blood suckers. This season is very unusual for us to have so many Mosquito's. We are getting bit in our house. West Nile virus has been found in several areas around So cal.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Mde0627 Gave it the benefit of the doubt....
I have a friend that has a 12 yr old unit..... Still working. Mine ran for the first two weeks (ALL directions followed) caught and killed about 30 Mosquitos .... It wouldn't fire back up. I cleaned the line, changed the tank and purged line, reset regulator etc.... Everything. No go. I really had hoped it would work and tried but I have no time to babysit a machine. It seems some people get units that work and others don't despite their best and by the book efforts. The concept is sound, I just wish the machine worked. Disappointed...

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Mark2 After 2 years of use, mosquitos are escaping, CHEAP plastic
So, after 2 summers of use, Im not very happy with it. During first summer I noticed a little clear plastic door lost their shape and couldnt lock, they just kept popping up. I had to install a velcro to hold them down to mosquitos dont escape from that mesh basket. Now, its the 2nd summer down, and I noticed the little door got even more disformed. Now there is a hole on the side of the door and a hole on the top by the hinge. I have to tape up and cover all the holes because the door are completly disformed and the unit doesnt hold any bugs anymore. The little access door stays open all the time now. I called the company - they didnt even try to replace the little access plastic door (that probably costs them 25c). I will not be buying any more Mosquito Magnet units. (this was my 2nd and last one). Company doesnt stand behind their products.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by erichard Don't be lured into purchasing this
I have owned the Commander for a full season and it has been a complete pain. I cannot keep it running. It regularly just shuts off without any error code or alerting. I have worked with support over and over again, but they have not been able to resolve anything. The site claims that the battery will last a full season, but I have had to charge the battery at least five times. And the alerts on propane and lure are completely bogus. They have nothing to do with the state of the trap. It isn't actually monitoring anything. Even worse, when I go to Amazon, I see lots of people with the exact same problems. Don't be lured into buying this.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Ricks Does the job
This is a replacement for a much older model. I found that the quality is not as good. The main difference is that this one requires gravity to hold it together. If it is pushed over for some reason there is no safety strap on the tank and everything will come apart with only the hose keeping the tank with head! They mean it when they say remove the tank before moving it!!
It is still expensive to operate. A tank of gas and a new attractant every 21 days will quickly equal the purchase price in a year or two. We had the original for a number of years and always had a double handful of mosquitos at the end of the season (thousands)! The secret is the right attractant for the area you live in.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by LL64 Only the 3rd Patriot Mosquito Trap in 34 seasons at the lake.
I just bought the 3rd Patriot Mosquito Trap this spring. I have been using the Trap for over 30 years.
I have been using trap at the lake during the summer and it usually is running from May to October. I have always had great success in using the unit. It does take up to 2 weeks to see a decline in the mosquito population, but you can see a big difference once the unit is started up in the spring. I have had excellent results with the unit over the years.
