Rated 1 out of 5 by What do you think....? Two for two! If your time is valuable, do not purchase these! No amount of tightening resolves the leak. December 21, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by And breaks when you try to tighten it Put these in on either side of my whole house water filter about 8 years ago. I change the filter every 3 months so that means I've opened and closed this valve about 24 times - certainly fewer than 50. The last time I took the filter cartridge off, the water was still trickling in. I tried to tighten it and it wouldn't stop. So I tried harder and the stem and the gate have somehow disconnected (haven't taken it apart yet to see). So to avoid having to completely disassemble my bypass setup, I have to buy another on of these pieces o' stuf to see if I can replace the guts. Pictures later. Oh -- and yes it always leaked around the stem if it wasn't fully opened or fully closed. February 1, 2014
