Had the flow locks off last November on my home in Florida, can't get them to unlock now. Please help.

Asked by: Bob
You can tap the top of the lock which should re-align the magnets.

Lost key and how to get this unlock

I bought a new one, but key doesnot work
Asked by: Lostkey111
Just stick a large Phillips screwdriver in the key slot, and firmly press down a few times. You will break the tension ring and then can simply unscrew the lock. No key needed. (It will ruin the lock however, but it is basically a pointless lock seeing how easy it is to break).

Do these locks all come with the same plastic key? If so, then I guess someone could just go to Home Depot and buy this lock and key, and use the new key to continue to steal water?
Asked by: Kate
The keys are assigned to each lock just as a MasterLock padlock would come with. It is a very simple plastic key that has numbers on the side that coordinate with the lock.

How to unlock

How to lock
Asked by: Liei
If spraying the unit with WD40 and then tapping it with a hammer doesn't work to loosen the mechanism. I found the best way was to drill a small hole 1/4 in the side of the green outer case into the inner core. I then placed a slightly smaller Allen Wrench into the hole and was able to turn it with the help of a pliers.

I bought 3 of these for my outside Faucets, because the gardeners somehow forgot to shut the water off after using. Needless to say after awhile two of the units froze up and would not open. I had to drill a small hole around 1/4 inch. through the side of the green housing into the second piece. I was then able to place a slightly smaller Allen Wrench into the hole and then twist it off with a plier. Not only a complete waste of your money, but you could wind up spending a lot of needless time getting them off your faucet.

I screwed it on my hose valve, and two weeks later when I went to take it off to use the faucet, it would not come off. Just spins and spins. No amount of pressure on the lock with the key inserted would get it to "catch" and come off. BUT THE WORST PART, was how easy it was to remove. Sticking a large Phillips screw driver in the key slot and pressing down broke the tension seal and I was able to unscrew the lock in a matter of seconds. So it is basically a pointless product.

We have construction workers in the area that use the water when we are not home. I bought this product simply from keeping them from doing so and it works! I don't think it should be used for a high security system for your faucet, but it;s perfect for frustrating people enough to not steal your water. Very easy to install.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Won't come off with key I live in a townhouse and bought this to prevent the maintenance guys from using my water...now I'm selling and can't get the thing off. It came up on my inspection report as needing to be removed and tested. Don't buy this - not worth it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't buy this junk Don't think about buying it. I bought one, it worked for the first time and it locked the hose permanently. You can't even open it with a key. I finally removed it by breaking it up using a electric saw.It is a totally waste of money. The manufacturer did not do a thing to help at all about this defect.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from You are in a jam if the Magnetic Keys lose their power! I think that this product is built well but there is a major flaw in the magnetic key mechanism. They supply you two keys but if they fail to work, i.e. if the magnetic polarity of the keys fail, then the Hosebibb will not come off. Good luck trying to contact the manufacturer, it was painful and they didn't care much to help. I'll stick to an analog bibb system that uses a true machined key.

After having a lawn care service employee steal water from my back yard without me knowing until months later, I am so glad to have this device. I was happily surprised to find that after removing the key upon installation, the lock simply spins and does NOT unscrew. I'm sure that it will keep the lawn care employee from stealing water in the future. I covered the entire thing with a cover to keep it from freezing. This should do the trick.
