Answer:
Di,
This is the part that handles the passage of water. It is the valve. This is part of a modular system. The handle or cover you buy separately that mounts to this valve to turn the water on and off, hot and cold etc. I hope that helps. You should have the folks at home depot show you in person how it all comes together. Good luck.

Answer:
You will need this valve to go behind the wall to mix the hot and cold water and turn on the water to the shower head. The water pressure will depend on the shower head you use.

Hi Di, Thank you for your question!
The R10000 Universal rough in valve is what the hot and cold supply lines connect to. In order for water to come out of a shower head or tub spout the valve must be installed. If you have additional questions please contact our customer service department at 1-800-345-3358 or via email at customerservice@deltafaucet.com.

Answer:
Check the actual shower head connection and see if there is a little rubber insert in-line that looks like a washer with about three holes in it. This is the flow restricter that can be removed with not implications except a higher flow of water.

Answer:
Hi Doc,
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet does not recommend removing any part of the showerhead to increase the flow rate. We manufacture our showerheads to meet water flow regulations and it will void the warranty if the flow restrictor is removed.
Thanks.

I am replacing that model myself and it is obsolete and must be brought up to code with Deltas new universal mixer unit . The new mixer valve unit is NOT compatible with any older trim and Handel sets . You need to replace everything if you are replacing the mixer valve .

Answer:
Thank you for your question. Based on the description you gave, it sounds like you have 600 series faucet. These faucets are turned on by pushing up on your handle and then turning to the right or left for hot and cold. If this is the case, your ball assembly is metal now and is Delta Faucet model # RP70.
You may contact our Home Owner/Warranty line at 800-345-3358 if this is not your type of faucet.

Answer:
Hi Richard,
Delta makes replacement parts for all of their valves and here are several different balls.
The best bet is to take your old ball to your local Home Depot. The plumbing associates will assist you in selecting the correct replacement ball.

Answer:
Dear LisaArini,
Thank you for your question. The noise that you have described is typically caused by either an air or debris blockage in the valve. We would advise removing the cartridge assembly and close the shower curtain/door and flush the valve for about a minutes. Check the cartridge to make sure it is free of any debris or particles. Reinstall parts and test the unit.
Best regards,
Tanya

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DON'T BUY ! Purchased this thing online for about $38 thinking any Delta combo kit would be compatible. I was so wrong !!!! After being installed nothing HD had was compatible and everything online was super expensive. Had to tear down drywall and just bought a kit that included everything. I'll try and return see how that goes. October 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easier to Use Than I Anticipated This is the first time I have ever purchased a Shower Faucet in piecemeal fashion. I was converting our old tub/shower to a Shower Stall only, and did not want to have to pay the extra for the tub hardware which is usually included in every shower faucet kit. So I took a chance, and ordered just the pieces I needed. It worked out great! The instructions were clear, installation was easy, and everything worked correctly the first time, with no leaks or issues. And it worked out about $30 less than buying the complete kit, so mission accomplished! The Shower Head and Handle kit I wanted specified the Valve body, by part number, so it was very easy to order. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rough-In Kit perfect....Home Depot delivery not so much The product was just fine. Installed two previously purchased parts with no problems whatsoever. October 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Recommended Necessity Simple installation as long as you have the right fittings. Not exactly for the typical DIY'er as it involves making 100% watertight plumbing connections. For remodel construction, fittings required will depend on your existing plumbing. I was able to use "Sharkbite" fittings to make the transition from existing tubing to threaded connections. More expensive to use the "Sharkbites" but much easier and less labor. October 26, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works well Easy to install. It was what was needed when installing new shower valve and head. June 19, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good but unneeded I bought this because I was installing a tile shower and after looking at trim pieces for the shower handle, concluded I needed to buy this separate because I found no mention of the valve being included with the trim. I also had to buy it online which was okay since I didn't need it for awhile. If needed in a pinch, it would of been a problem. After installing it and tiling the shower, I purchased the trim pieces I wanted for the handle and that's when I found out it was included with the set so buying this separately was unneeded. The product itself functioned perfectly but a mention of this valve being included with trim selections would be useful. Another note, If you are to buy this seperately, I would suggest buying the valve that includes the water shut offs included. I needed to finish my shower before I could sheetrock the back so I could turn the water on, it put my bathroom project a bit behind but that was my own fault. Regardless, good product but unless replacing it without needing the trim pieces, you'll find what you need with the trim set you like. Mine did atleast, can't confirm if it's with all trim sets.
