Customer Questions & Answers

How long are the front posts on this dock? Into what depth of water can it be placed?

Asked by: Kukko
Hi Kukko, The posts are 6' long, it is recommended to install in no more than 4' deep as you'll need to be in the water. Hope this answers your question.

Good Morning, I currently have a QP427 for my summer cottage and am looking to expand. Is there a difference between a QP400 and QP427. Can I join them? Thank you.
Asked by: Joe
Hi Joe, There is a difference between the QP-400 & QP-427, the QP-400 has no "twin track" whereas the QP-427 does have one. However, you can joint the 2 together and should the width differ (depends on the year produced) then you would need to add a flat washer under the Junction Plate. For a perfect result, I would recommend staying with the 427, thus avoiding problems. Hope this helps The Multinautic Team!

Can you add wheels to the bottom of this dock for easy placement?

Asked by: Stacey
Hi Stacey, Yes you can put wheels on that dock, however, should you have more than 1 section, you'll need to put wheels on every section. Hope this answers your question

Customer Reviews

Aluminum Boxed Dock is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from You won't be sorry on this one I started building my dock with the Multinautic dock sections about 4 years ago. I have been building my dock on the ice in early spring and install about one section a year. I started buying these from another home improvement store and they abruptly stopped carrying it and couldn't even special order additional sections for me, which was very disappointing, not to mention poor customer service. Thank goodness for Home Depot picking up the Multinautic products. I am installing these sections as a permanent dock (not removed in the winter) and I have had no problems with them. I have a deep muck bottom lake so the supports provided don't work for me, but should work for someone with a nice sand bottom. For the supports I have been using 1 1/4" conduit and driving it down into the bottom of the lake, resulting and a very stable dock. These dock sections are very strong, well made and durable. They also look very nice as well and are easy to assemble. I have been capping them with no maintenance decking material and I am confident I will have a dock that will last me decades with no worries or maintenance.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from good for light use Really lightweight, easy to install/remove. Downside is, not very strong or stable if you have strong wave action, bigger boats. our pontoon boat once pushed over this dock in a storm not sure I understand what the issue is with the decking, from reviewers below. Standard deck board work just fine, either PT or cedar. have had it for several years..

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good quality but hard to get recommended cedar top The aluminum frame is good quality, but no one carries the recommended cedar wood they only have true 1/2 inch. For the top. They say not to use pressure treated , but don't tell you why. Pressure treated makes it a lot heavier than using cedar. The manufacturer says they sell a cedar top kit , but I was unable to find this for sale anywhere.
