These tiles look great and feel sturdy and good under foot. The positives stop there. I purchased six hundred square feet of tile and a quantity if the edge transition strips. These tiles are not manufactured to a consistent standard. The tiles interlock with tabs like a puzzle. Put two together and they meet just fine, once multiple sides need to mesh⦠well they just don't. A rubber mallet is used to BEAT the edges together and it takes a lot of beating, too much. Once they are crammed together they buckle, because the "zipper" edges just don't fit together. The transition strips are even worse. Some will lay flat, but about half won't, again the problem is the interlocking tabs. A super frustrating experience. After too many hours of pounding these ties together I have a floor that I will live with, but I am not pleased. Just fyi I installed these tiles in doors, over a clean cement floor.

I found these tiles tiles to be of good quality. I really think that the interlock design will hold up over time. So far I have been very pleased with this product. I have an old house and these layer over an old tile floor that was breaking up.

First of all, your product spec says it's thickness is 1" and it's not even 3/8". It's much thinner. The interlocking edges break off easily (mine came already broken in two places) so you have to be careful with the edges installing the pieces together. I saw that there was a little stain on it, and when I tried to remove it with soap and water, it didn't come out. Not easy to clean.

The info in the specs table on this page is wrong - the tiles are about 1/4" thick (not 1 inch) and are PVC (not rubber). They appear to be the same as item #MT1002498, where the description actually matches what I have, even though the number on this page (SKU 615904) agrees with what's on my packaging.
Whatever. I LOVE these tiles. They snap together very snugly and unlike other interlocking floor products (especially the PlushTiles), the color and finish is very even and consistent from one package to another, even when purchased from different stores. (That's why I'm giving it five stars for appearance - not because it's gorgeous, but because it's reliable!)
It seems most people are putting these in a garage, basement, or exercise area. I am using them in the kitchen. They're not very glamorous, but I knew that when I bought them. They're still much better-looking than the nasty, worn-out linoleum they're covering up - and a lot tougher..
Also, they're easy. First, the installation: Stomping on the seams was sufficient to lock most of the pieces together. In spots.where the floor is uneven and the fit is a little tighter or looser, I used a light tack/upholstery hammer to pop the teeth together. Not one tile or tooth gave me any trouble, and none of the teeth snapped off or anything like that.
These are also easy to clean up. If I spill something, I can pull up just those few tiles, take them outside, and hose them off!
The packaging says to go to homedepot.com for edge trim and corner pieces, but I don't see any trim pieces for this brand except the flimsy-looking ones for the runners. Regardless, unless you have a perfectly square room of just the right size, you will need to trim at least some tiles yourself.
You are supposed to be able to cut them with a regular utility knife. It can be done, but it's time-consuming, tedious, and difficult. If you have to cut more than a few of these, I recommend using a better tool (I don't know enough about cutting tools to say what kind, but maybe just a better utility knife?).
Again, though, I'll emphasize that I put these in my kitchen. I don't know if this material is as good in a garage or patio, where temperatures fluctuate more. But they are GREAT in my kitchen.
