how do you hang a corner shelf?

do they have brackets or do you just screw it onto the wall?
Asked by: Terri
I would first start out my choosing your place. Eye level or above. Take a measurement from ceiling down and mark your line, on each side of the wall. If you have pre drilled holes in the shelf, mark each hole with a magic marker. Use a drill bit about half the size of the screw you will use to secure the mounting bracket or shelf. Check once again for the correct measurement, and if you can put either a small nail or screw into the holes and lay a level there. It doesn't have to be perfect, just as long as the bubble is within the two marks. Or if you have one of those square battery operated ones, just let it do it's job. Depending on how long a shelf, you should use a screw or nail about every 6 to 8 inches.

Do I need a drill?

Do I need to rent any power tools or will a good old fashioned hammer and nail work? And are there gonna be studs in the wall close enough to the corner to anchor this and not have to rely on drywall to hold it up?
Asked by: Nate
it comes with wall anchors and screws. It's not designed to hold a lot of weight, I think 10 pounds is the one I have. It would depend on what corner you will install it. It might have studs that you can nail. but without knowing your circumstances, and the wall it will go into, I can't reply on that. I think you would have to have a rather long nail to do what you want to do with it. Long and thin would not be the best way to go, but that's your decision.

I have two of these shelves. How can I get the brackets that go under them?

I want to get more shelves. They are wonderful corner shelves. I simply also need to get the bracing pieces that the shelves sit on too. How and where can I get those? Can these be mounted another way without them. ?
Asked by: BearyLady
They do not require brackets. Just put screws thru the bottom rails into the mounting surface.

5/8 in. Honey Floating Corner Shelf (Price Varies By Length) is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 37.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice shelf, lousy hardware Bought this a year ago, only got around to trying to put it up now. The color is nice, the finish is nice, it's all wood and fits the function I need it for. Installation, however, is a mess. I attached the supports to the wall, two with wall-anchors, two into studs. The problem, as for many people who wrote here, is trying to screw the shelf to the supports. There are no pre-drilled pilot holes in the supports, the wood of the supports is hard, and the screws are soft. Too close to the wall to use a drill, so I was trying to get the screws in by hand - and both screwheads stripped in no time. Now they're so badly stripped that I cannot get them back out with the screwdriver. Will have to see if I can budge them by gripping from the sides with pliers, and will probably gouge up the wall in the process. If I can remove the screws, I plan to glue the shelf to the supports (I'm going to put something very lightweight on it), but at the moment it's stuck a quarter inch above the supports and looks awful, because I have positioned it high up so the underside is visible. Also, the little cosmetic wooden screw-head covers won't stay in. Even if hammered, as soon as I start on the next one, the first one pops out. Will have to glue those, too. I realize this only cost $15 (with shipping), but still. It's unfortunately that skimping on quality led to such a mess.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Corrner shelving I bought these to put bookshelf speakers on, rather than mount the speakers to the wall or use a brakcet. All the holes are pre drilled. After getting them level, and marking the holes, installation was pretty easy. Twenty minutes and I was done. All screws, and cover plugs are included. The only drawback was that I had to order them online. I did search around, and these were the only ones I found that suited me. I wouild make sure that your walls are square, prior to ordering, or you'll have to have a shim.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent, but one flaw The product is beautiful and the first half of the project went off without a hitch. It was attaching the top to the rails that was the problem. The holes were so close to the wall it was difficult to get the drill in there to drill the screws in perfectly. Not only that, but the screws were very cheap and stripped out almost instantly. Luckily I had some left over screws in the garage. They didn't match, but the shelf is high enough no one will be looking up there. Fix that issue and keep the price below $10 and it would be a 5!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for These look pretty nice when you take them out of the package but after that it was all downhill. Of six of that I purchased, one of the supports split and a quarter size chuck came out off, one was not square to fit in the corner properly, and every single screw to attach the shelf to the supports stripped the head of the screw. As for the screw heads stripping, I tried 2 different #2 Phillips head screwdrivers and a #1 Phillips head screwdriver. I also tried predrilling through the pre-drilled holes in the shelf into the supports, none of which helped with the screws. I had the best luck with a #2 bit in an 18V cordless drill.. After reading previous reviews, I decided to take a chance on whether they would be square and all but one were fairly close to square, so I mostly lucked out with that issue. As far as the support splitting, I used the pre-drilled guide hole in the shelf, and since it was only one out of 12, I figure there was probably a weak spot in the support for some reason or another. The directions tell you to use a 1/4 inch drill bit if you need to use the anchors included with the shelf. The hole drilled with a 1/4 inch bit is too big for the included anchors and the anchor will just turn with the screw. Either use a smaller bit or plan on purchasing larger anchors. In the end, I achieved the look I was going for and I am the only one who knows the screw aren't screwed in all the way, so if you can live with the imperfections then purchase these. They are, at least, a wooden shelf and not laminate or plastic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Shelf for the Price This is a very sturdy well made shelf, and the price is right! I found it easier to to attach the supports to the shelf first before hanging. I only bought one first to try it out, I liked it so much I bought 2 more. If I have a need for this type of shelf in the future, I will buy more.
