Do I need to rent any power tools or will a good old fashioned hammer and nail work? And are there gonna be studs in the wall close enough to the corner to anchor this and not have to rely on drywall to hold it up?

it comes with wall anchors and screws. It's not designed to hold a lot of weight, I think 10 pounds is the one I have. It would depend on what corner you will install it. My shelf came with the wrong sized plastic anchors. They were too small. Does anybody know what the proper size anchor is so I can order some?

I want to get more shelves. They are wonderful corner shelves. I simply also need to get the bracing pieces that the shelves sit on too. How and where can I get those?
Can these be mounted another way without them. ?

Answer:
They do not require brackets. Just put screws thru the bottom rails into the mounting surface.

I purchased mine to set up some speakers in the corners of my bedroom. I found out that each will support 15 lbs.

Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 37 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great shelf These shelves are great, easy to install and made of real wood. I'm very happy with them. April 5, 2016

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Nice shelf, lousy hardware Bought this a year ago, only got around to trying to put it up now. The color is nice, the finish is nice, it's all wood and fits the function I need it for. Installation, however, is a mess. I attached the supports to the wall, two with wall-anchors, two into studs. The problem, as for many people who wrote here, is trying to screw the shelf to the supports. There are no pre-drilled pilot holes in the supports, the wood of the supports is hard, and the screws are soft. Too close to the wall to use a drill, so I was trying to get the screws in by hand - and both screwheads stripped in no time. Now they're so badly stripped that I cannot get them back out with the screwdriver. Will have to see if I can budge them by gripping from the sides with pliers, and will probably gouge up the wall in the process. If I can remove the screws, I plan to glue the shelf to the supports (I'm going to put something very lightweight on it), but at the moment it's stuck a quarter inch above the supports and looks awful, because I have positioned it high up so the underside is visible. Also, the little cosmetic wooden screw-head covers won't stay in. Even if hammered, as soon as I start on the next one, the first one pops out. Will have to glue those, too. I realize this only cost $15 (with shipping), but still. It's unfortunately that skimping on quality led to such a mess. September 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by corner shelf It was easy to install and it is the perfect size. September 22, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Wrong color I thought honey would be a lighter yellowish color, but these were quite dark. I returned them. They seemed to be good quality, just not for us. I purchased two unstained ones from the store which we'll use instead. June 9, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Decent Product, Not the Easiest Assembly Quality and value of product was exactly what I expected, but assembly of the product was somewhat of a hassle. Instructions tell you to screw supports onto wall, then shelf onto supports. The screws to secure the shelf to the supports are very small and very close to the wall. I ended up stripping the top of one of the screws while struggling with it. Had to go get new screws from the hardware store, remove the shelf supports from the wall, assemble them to the shelf, then mount the whole assembly on the wall. Other than the assembly woes, the product works just fine. June 18, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by You get what you pay for These look pretty nice when you take them out of the package but after that it was all downhill. Of six of that I purchased, one of the supports split and a quarter size chuck came out off, one was not square to fit in the corner properly, and every single screw to attach the shelf to the supports stripped the head of the screw. As for the screw heads stripping, I tried 2 different #2 Phillips head screwdrivers and a #1 Phillips head screwdriver. I also tried predrilling through the pre-drilled holes in the shelf into the supports, none of which helped with the screws. I had the best luck with a #2 bit in an 18V cordless drill.. After reading previous reviews, I decided to take a chance on whether they would be square and all but one were fairly close to square, so I mostly lucked out with that issue. As far as the support splitting, I used the pre-drilled guide hole in the shelf, and since it was only one out of 12, I figure there was probably a weak spot in the support for some reason or another. The directions tell you to use a 1/4 inch drill bit if you need to use the anchors included with the shelf. The hole drilled with a 1/4 inch bit is too big for the included anchors and the anchor will just turn with the screw. Either use a smaller bit or plan on purchasing larger anchors. In the end, I achieved the look I was going for and I am the only one who knows the screw aren't screwed in all the way, so if you can live with the imperfections then purchase these. They are, at least, a wooden shelf and not laminate or plastic. February 10, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Decent, but one flaw The product is beautiful and the first half of the project went off without a hitch. It was attaching the top to the rails that was the problem. The holes were so close to the wall it was difficult to get the drill in there to drill the screws in perfectly. Not only that, but the screws were very cheap and stripped out almost instantly. Luckily I had some left over screws in the garage. They didn't match, but the shelf is high enough no one will be looking up there. Fix that issue and keep the price below $10 and it would be a 5!
