Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Did not work effectively in a Murray Model # LW1224L1125 load center ... As part of an EV charger station installation, I had to have a new 100A sub-panel installed and the circuits for two bedrooms relocated to the sub-panel. The original circuits did not have AFCI breakers. The first set of AFCI breakers we tried were Murray Model # MP115AFCP. They tripped immediately on turning them on and the LEDs indicated arc and ground faults. Suspecting that perhaps the breakers were faulty, another brand new set was tried with the same result. I tried to locate any shared neutral issue or neutral to ground contact in the circuits and could not find any. In exploring the issue in the internet, I discovered that Eaton offered replacement breakers for Murray, but they were not stocked by local retailers. Out of curiosity, I decided to try these Eaton AFCI breakers in the panel. The dimensions and the physical design suggested that they should fit in the panel. They were a bit hard to push in place and harder to pull back out but they fit well in the panel. More importantly, these breakers did not trip immediately on the two bedroom circuits. The TEST buttons trip the breakers as they should and are able to be turned ON after resetting the trip. I am not really sure why the Murray AFCIs fail to work on these circuits while the Eaton AFCIs do, but I am happy to have an AFCI breaker on the bedroom circuits. January 28, 2014
