Circuit breakers are intended for switching and protection of your home's wiring from high temperatures caused by excess current higher than the rating of the wire. While thermal-magnetic circuit breakers are the key element for overload and short-circuit protection of your electrical system, there are potentially dangerous conditions that do not involve over current.

Answer:
The MP1515N has a wider slot on the side connecting to the bus bars. This is most likely for an old Murray breaker panel. This allows the breaker to fit flush with the breaker panel. The price for this is more than twice the other one.

Answer:
The difference between the MP1515U and MP1515NC is the stab that connects the circuit breaker to the bus bar. The MP1515U is "Circuit Limiting" meaning that it is designed for use in load centers that accept tandem circuit breakers (I.E. Hi tooler,
The "U" just indicates that the breaker is sold through retail stores so it would not be any different with or without the "U".
The "N" indicates the circuit breaker is considered a "Non Circuit Limiting" tandem breaker and will fit in panels that are NOT designed to accept tandem breakers. (I.E. a 20 space 20 circuit Load Center). These are typically used in older panels manufactured pre Read More

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Be careful with ordering Murray breakers This breaker arrived fast but it didn't fit. The back of the breaker connecting to the bus bar slot is too short interfering with the fitment. I returned this to the store and found the correct breaker but the price is more than twice the price of this breaker. I'm ok with the price but there needs to be more detail for on-line ordering. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by what I needed What is there to say. It's a circuit breaker. Either you need this brand or not. Not a popular brand so must be ordered. Shipping was fast and arrived at store earlier than promised. September 30, 2014
