just what we needed for the drain in our flower bed. The flat grate would simply get covered and clog; This style allows to mulch to float upward and the water can still drain through the grate from below.
Puppy tried to chew on it and it held up well.

Our driveway drain uses a 6" flat cover which is perfect for letting water in and keeping debris out 9 months out of the year. It's those remaining 3 rainy Fall months of reaching a rake into the center of a huge puddle that this atrium cover shines.
With the atrium cover in place Pineneedles and leaves collect around the base of the cover and water still has plenty of room to enter the drain. Now I just grab a handful of the leaves collected around the drain when preforming my weekly leaf cleanup. No more jumping around huge puddles.
Of course this does add a obstacle in the driveway that needs to be avoided when walking or parking.

These grates are absolutely perfect as net pots in a hydro- or aeroponic system. They're extremely sturdy, don't seep into water, and have a lip that makes installation a breeze.
