How come 0.5 GPM NEOPERL aerators (including this model above) do not have "water sense seal" when some of the 1.0 GPM NEOPERL aerators do?. Bit confused because I thought lower the GPM, you waste less water since it indicates less flow. I thought "water sense seals" are given to the ones with lower GPM.
Asked by: Askingppl
Although 0.5 gpm is water saving according to WaterSense criteria it falls below the minimum flow as established by certification standards. If you would like more information on WaterSense specifications it is available on

Is this prone to splashing with high pressure water?

Is this prone to splashing with high pressure water?
Asked by: ClarksonCote
Lowering the flowrate on a faucet does help to alleviate splashing, but it would depend on the design of your faucet. A spray aerator is used to produce a miniature shower pattern to provide full coverage of the hands during washing. This model is also pressure compensating and maintains a flow rate that is near-constant, regardless of pressure fluctuations. Sprays are recommended for use in public lavatories.

hello can i used this faucet aertor on my kitchen? or just fits on the bathroom faucets?

Asked by: mari
This aerator has a 0.5 gpm spray stream that is ultra-water saving and is usually used in the bathroom. You can use it in the kitchen if you would like but you may find the flow rate too low. The preferred flow rate for a kitchen faucet is generally 1.5 gpm or greater.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Aerator! My kids were wasting water and making a mess with the traditional 2.2gpm bubble stream aerator. I convinced my 7 year old that we should replace it with an efficient model. He used the wrench to loosen and remove the old one, then he installed the new one. He and his younger brother love how the conical needle jets tickle their hands. I love the water/energy savings. Mom loves that less water splashes out when the kids wash. Why isn't this sold in the stores?!?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not quite what I wanted Was looking for more aeration. I think I need 1.5 gpm.Not enough pressure now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent water saving aerator Just what I was looking for to install in the bathroom sink. Previous aerator was 1.5 gpm, which for most things is not needed. This aerator cut that down to 0.5 gpm. I live in California where there are currently major drought issues, so this is one small step to help reduce water usage in the home. The water comes out as a spray (as described in the item description) and is good enough for my daily bathroom sink usage. I could see this as a great benefit for someone that has many kids or family members/roommates that's looking for a way to reduce their water consumption and bill. Also should have an effect on reducing the gas bill since it won't be heating as much hot water as a 1.5 gpm aerator would with it's stronger water output. Installation was very easy: all I had to do was unscrew and take off the old aerator, and then screw this new one on. It fit perfectly and didn't leak or do anything strange from the start. Just worked as expected. Worth the purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works like a charm Bought 5 of these and so far I have to say it has saved quite a bit of water. At times when the home is silent you can hear the sink faucet from another bathroom because of the high pressure from the aerator. The main purpose was to limit the excess waste of water that my children were doing. Water for Washing my face more than sufficient. Water for brushing my teeth more than sufficient. Water for shaving a bit tricky because the higher gpm meant faster Razer cleaning, but this aerator was still sufficient.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Save water when using the sink with this .5 GPM spray faucet aerator! The included rubber pieces makes this very easy to install with just your fingers. The harder part was removing my old aerator. Once I got the old part out, I just hand tightened this new aerator in. The spray is different from my usual spout of bubbly water but saving water is my goal. The spray is softer than the 1 or 1.5 GPM spray faucet aerator made by the same company so less water particles splash around the sink. I didn't know that this was all you needed to control the flow of water coming out of your faucet; no adjustments or other parts needed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I was looking for Several commercial buildings use this water saving spray faucet aerator to save money, but I like it because it is a spray rather than a stream. Sprays make it easier to wash soap, dirt, etc. off with less water.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great product! I bought 5 of these. 0.5gpm is plenty of water to wash your hands or rinse dishes. The only slow part is filling up a pot or cup of water. No problems at all!
