Answer:
Thank you for your inquiry. Padding is not necessary for the Mondo Red as a stair runner. We sell carpet padding; however, not specific to stair runners.

Answer:
Use a rope to measure steps. Follow the steps as if installing the runner then lay flat and measure rope. This will give you more accurate measurement to avoid on site cutting.

To measure straight stairs, measure both the tread (horizontal step) and the riser (vertical part of step). This should add up to about 18". Then count the number of steps. Be sure to include the last riser, which leads to the upper landing. Multiply the number of steps by the total inches per stair. Then divide by 12 to get the total linear feet necessary for your straight stairs. We recommend adding Read More

Be sure to include the last riser, which leads to the upper landing. Multiply the number of steps by the total inches per stair. CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 10 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pop of color The runner rug adds life and pep to the kitchen. As a former interior designer, I am thoroughly impressed. I really should have taken a before and after picture. Also cushions the Mexican tile under my feet. :) July 9, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Price is ok. The runner is NOT non slip and the cut end finishing is marginal. The carpet runner is not non slip. They don't do a good job finishing the cut end. it looks ok, but, I needs a rug pad on slick surfaces. Also, Home Depot's ordering system will not allow you to order two rugs, it combines the lengths to one order. I had to place two separate orders and pick one up in the store to receive free shipping. Customer service was worthless when I called in to fix this. June 16, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mondo Red Carpet Runner We recently had hardwood flooring installed in our beach house and wanted to protect them. Our hallway is 20 ft long. Mondo Red runner was affordable and very attractive. It was delivered to our home a few days after ordering. Love, love, the runner and the ends were finished off! I would highly recommend this product. April 7, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rugs This product is a very good quality and I love the color. I would buy this again March 19, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Red Runner I LOVE my new runner, which I purchased for our master bedroom closet. It looks beautiful against the light maple floors. For the price I paid, I didn't expect it to be bound at the ends but it was. I absolutely love it. March 3, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Not bad at all! The colors and overall quality didn't disappoint but it takes a while for the runner to get flat. Mine, after two weeks is still not quite there. This will probably vary depending on the individual piece shipped by the vendor. February 10, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice runner custom fit It was custom cut to the size I needed for the space. February 10, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Handsome Runner Runner is handsome. I bought a long runner (more than 30 feet) and it tends to skew back and forth a little in spite of non-skid rug pads; I think it's because the carpet weave isn't as tight (firm, rigid) as it could be - the runner is too supple. This probably wouldn't be as noticeable in a shorter runner. For the price, it's a great trade-off. November 16, 2014
