Answer:
Thank you for your question. Stretch & Seal is a non-adhesive tape that only bonds to itself. Therefore it is suited for applications where it would be wrapped around something in a spiral fashion (like a pipe, tube, etc). Since it will only adhere to itself, it will not bond to the step material to repair the crack. Best of luck with your project.

Answer:
Thank you for your question. Stretch & Seal actually does not have any adhesive at all - it simply fuses to itself. To remove, simply cut away the material away carefully using a utility knife or scissors. Best of luck with your project!

I have a water softener hooked up in my garage at the main. I have a very small leak which is a little trickle, nothing major. I just need to know if this is a good product to use on it to stop it. Thank you for all and any responses.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.5 out of 5 by 112 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Failed Didn't work for me. I had pin point leak that didn't hold up under water pressure. The tape made a bubble and burst. Continued layers didn't solve the problem. The tape continued to bubble up until it burst through the tape.. The is the first consumer complaint I have ever felt so strongly about that I've made a written complaint about it's failure to work. It was like throwing time, effort, expecttions and money away. What can you tell me about your lproduct that failed me. I would like to hear from you. July 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Saved the day for me Worked exactly as expected. I used two layers of tape and added a screw clamp over the actual point of the leak to reinforce the tape. Saved an expensive trip from the plumber. July 28, 2016

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by This stuff is a nightmare to work with It sounds like a good idea, a stretchy silicone tape which seals onto itself. But this product is TERRIBLE! But you don't need to take my word for it, just look at all the 1-star reviews here. Save yourself the hassle and just don't buy it! I wish I had read the reviews here before seeing it on the shelf at Home Depot. I could have saved myself a lot of trouble. May 28, 2016
