Answer:
I have not personally tried to paint over the product. I would guess that paint could go over it, but I am uncertain how well & how long the paint would adhere due to the smooth, metalic surface.

Answer:
I don't see why you couldn't paint over it, but you will likely see the edges if it is used on a flat surface. If you don't mind that then I say go for it.

Answer:
Hello Luis!
Nashau Foil Tape has a very shiny, aluminum finish.
It is not easily paintable.
Because the tape will flex and the surface is very shiny, even primer designed for aluminum siding (like Zinsser 123) will not be able to cling well over time.
Nashau Foil Tape is very adhesive and excellent for joints in ductwork, but typically is not painted.

Thank you for your inquiry. The Nashua 324A is designed for use in sealing the exterior seams of class 1 flexible or rigid duct work and should not be used on the inside of the duct. Best of luck with your project.

I noticed that both the foil and the paper backing have an adhesive on them. They come apart easily, but are you supposed to apply them together?

Answer:
Yes, pull the backing off as you lay the tape down. That way, you keep the tape under control.

Answer:
Thank you for your question. To apply Nashua 324A, you will want to remove and discard the brown kraft paper release liner. The adhesive face of the foil should then be applied to the surface. Good luck with your project!

Looks like it is rated up to the low 300°F range so it should make a good product choice for that use. In my outdoor/weather use, it has lasted great so far. Several years and counting!

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 54 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by sealed perfectly We accidentally cut a slit in the ac vent while working on the floors of a mobile home. This tape sealed it right up. August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Outstanding Tape For Sealing A/C Handler-Furnace As a DIY every ten to twelve weeks I 'service' my A/C Air Handler-Furnace. I first shut off the electrical and remove the air handler panel cover. I then inspect the evaporator “A” coils for debris accumulation and drop anti-algae tablets in the condensation pan to keep the condensate line free of blockages and potential overflow, water damage. This whole process only takes approximately ten minutes. After putting the air handler panel cover back on I tape the entire seams, between the cover and handler body with Nashua 324A Premium Aluminum Foil Tape. It not only provides an airtight seal to keep out leaking 'by-pass air' drawn into the handler, but is also provides a vapor barrier to keep moisture out. Sealing my air handler with Nashua 324A has saved me money over the long run through increased efficiency from not having to cool and dehumidify leaking air drawn into the handler. This has also kept the air handler fan and evaporator cooling coil cleaner too. Most of my friends are shocked when they see how 'leaky' their air handler-furnace is especially if they have to remove the cover frequently to change their air filters. The screws holding the cover on get worn and don't seal the unit. Nashua 324A Aluminum Foil Tape is what I recommend to them to properly seal their units. At first they balk at the cost of the tape over cheap duct tape, but there is no comparison. Cheap duct tape just does not hold up to after being exposed to moisture and temperature fluctuations, which is why I recommend this Nashua Foil Tape. Besides, it is UL listed for the very purpose of sealing HVAC equipment. May 7, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Tape! Tape is very strong and sticks well! As strong as it is, it still is easy to tear off. August 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Does the job Was surprised by the sticking power of this tape, held ductwork tight and secure. Will see durability wise later. When stuck to itself it came apart somewhat easy but stuck to ductwork seams like it should. August 9, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product Seals all metal duct work and can be stretched to produce a tight seal around pipes and transitions with one or two layers. Tears easy as to be expected with a metallic product. Only down fall of the product is backing tape is hard to remove at times especially when cut or ripping a section off of roll. July 19, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Duct tape Excellent product for home use. Easy to use and seems to be durable July 12, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by works real good the tape was very easy to put on the employees were very helpful August 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Tape Bought to install insulation under the house because it sticks and holds no matter the temperature or how much dust in the air, but also used to secure joints on a gazebo outside and to patch holes on a dryer vent. When considering buying duct tape you may want to pay a few dollars more and buy this tape. Stronger, more reliable and definitely worth the money. June 28, 2016
