Product Overview

NeatHeat baseboard front cover is made of polymer and the end caps are ABS plastic. You can save yourself up to $75 per hour in labor plus the cost of material by installing NeatHeat instead of having a plumber install new baseboard throughout your home. You can install NeatHeat throughout the entire property in less time and without specials tools as it snaps on over the existing baseboard heater. NeatHeat will never rust or need replacing. It doesn't have any sharp edges and helps protect against children's and grandchildren's fingers touching the sharp fins inside. Check the "How To Measure For NeatHeat" guide below to make sure your individual baseboard heaters are the correct size for NeatHeat. Common brands include Slant Fin series #15, #30, and #2000, Sterling series petite 7, Suntech, and Weil Mclain; however there are also many lesser know brand names so it is always best to check your specific measurements.

  • End caps sold separately
  • Made of Polymer that is melt-proof until approximately 460 degrees F
  • Can be cleaned using common household cleaners
  • Not intended for use with electric baseboard heat

Customer Questions & Answers

Do you measure base board heater covers with ends on or off?

Asked by: Shelly
I measured the entire cover but at least in my home the metal covers were standard:4 feet or 6 feet multiples that were attached together. It seems that these covers would be very easy to cut with a utility scissor as well, if that is necessary.

Do these covers slip over the old metal baseboard covers or do you take the old covers off and slip them over the plumbing?

It appears that these covers are made of plastic. Can they withstand the heat generated by the plumbing?
Asked by: sharon
They slip over existing old metal covers. Nothing to remove or change

Snap onto what?

The installation video says they "snap on". What do they snap on to? I thought I had to remove my old, rusty baseboards, so just wondering what these new ones snap on to. Or maybe I'm not supposed to remove the old baseboard top, and this snaps over it? Is so, I wonder if the rust shows through.
Asked by: Aries
No need to remove the old one. Our was missing the front cover part though which left the fins exposed and collecting toilet paper dust. This product has a short lip that will go between the wall and the old baseboard backsplash part. Ours was caulked against the wall so we just cut the caulking and slide the new piece over the top of the old and down in between the wall and it pretty much snaps on. Looks great - so much nicer.

Can I get a free sample to see if it fits my baseboards?

Asked by: Nanners
Yes you can. Give me a call, so I can get your address and I will send it out. We do the fulfillment for The Home Depot. What we have done is save pieced that have been damaged and have cut them up into samples; so that people can check them against what they have. That way they can avoid the frustration of buying some and finding out it will not work on the baseboard that is installed in there home. Chris 978 651 3301

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great time saver Tried spray painting over old rusty slantfin covers- What a PITA. A quick Google search and I found these. Twice the price at Amazon- Go HD! So quick and easy, cut to length with snips. I put them right over the metal fins, not the old covers. Fit like a glove, look beautiful! They are rated to over 400 degrees. F., so we shall see.. So far, so good.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Blocks the heat Using a plastic cover for my baseboards was a big mistake, as most of the heat is BLOCKED. This covers defeat the purpose of a heater and I should have thought about this before buying them, but I relayed on the reviews. I'll try to work to Home Depot to return them and buy the metal ones. The look is not bad but the heat waste is huge. Underneath the cover is really hot but the boards are just warm. Also, it takes a long time to heat the house.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Looks great in the store So very glad I only bought one set. Cover fits pretty good but the end caps don't clip on well other than in the store. The best use for these are in the bathroom. The end cap behind toilet, you can forget about getting it to look good. This heater cover was a great idea that went bad in manufacturing.

This is a great improvement over the rusting metal register that is now covered and see no reason it should change. I hate giving reviews for items you have only had less than a month as the true test is over a period of time.

I thought I would try it on the bathroom first. I was impressed how easy it was to work with and what a difference it made with the look of the room. I will be purchasing more in the future to complete the rest of my home.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from nice product It was an easy installation and the cover certainly changed the appearance of the bathroom for the better. The flow holes on baseboard pvc replacement cover could have been milled better. Excessive rough finish.
