Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for fire pit gathering and of course large family re-unions This URN is made to make minimum of 20 and maximum of 50 cups. The operation is as easy as a regular coffee maker. There is absolutely no learning curve. The front has a built-in scale clearly displaying the water level. You just add water, add coffee into metallic filter, and press the Power Button. That’s it. It does not requires any paper filters. Out of the box, I ran the first cycle with plane water to make sure everything is clean and then ran a 20 cups test to make sure there are no surprises. The coffee it produces comes out about 190 degrees hot. When comes to taste, I always use filtered water with fresh ground coffee and it produces tasty/hot coffee just the way I prefer. For 20 cups, it took about 22 minutes to get the coffee ready. So plan accordingly for 50 cups. When the coffee is brewed, the sides and top of the URN becomes very hot, I say about 110 degrees or so. I probably will fabricate a housing for it that would cover the sides and the top so there are no surprises. The cleaning is again as easy as a carafe, pour clean water in the canister along with vinegar and run the cycle, that’s it. The build quality is good for the home use. It is not commercial quality by any means and should not be used that way. I see it a great fit around our fire pit gathering and of course large family re-unions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great. Gets VERY hot! This coffee urn basically works exactly that any other percolator. I used it to heat up a large quantity of water for hot chocolate. It took about 30 min and the water was VERY hot! The sides and top of the unit also get hot so keep this out of the reach of children when using. Cleaning the urn was basically the same as any percolator but slightly more difficult due to it's size. Overall it works great and I'm happy with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from THE BEST coffee brewing system! Simple to fill, remains hot for hours after turning off, brews an evenly dispensed pot if coffee that doesn't burn. There just isn't any comparison! Fill the water, fill the coffee (and no paper filters), secure the lid and turn it on! There's only me & my husband and we drink a lot of coffee. This urn makes it so simple for us to have coffee throughout the day.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent This Nesco 50-Cup Coffee Urn in Stainless Steel is replacing another brand 50 cup brewer, I have used for many years. This is a decent product and after using it, I like it over all. It is much quieter than the old brewer I have been using and it brewed half a pot (about 25 cups) in approximately 30 minutes. This unit will indicate when the brew is finished and it kept the coffee I made steaming hot for the two hours we used it. Empty, it is very light weight. Very easy to clean afterwards. Has a nice feature where it will disconnect power if forgotten and left unattended. Easily resetable. The spout-spigot has a continuous pour feature.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works great and easy to use I would have given it 5 stars but the plastic base is uneven which allows the pot to wobble see my video. But that aside I love the water drip tray. Our old pot didn't have one and you always had to put a towel or something on the floor. Now we have something that is attached to catch the dribbles. We have a very large family there are 30 of us around the table st the holidays. In the past we had to fill a carafe but not anymore. This pot can make up to 50 cups. And I was surprised how hot the water is. It has an external water gage, stay cool handles and double walls to retain the heat longer. I like the way the lid just twists on. I think you will love this pot and it should last for years.
