Kinks in the store?

This question is from PRO 3/4 in. Dia x 75 ft. Commercial Duty Water Hose

I noticed that the way this hose is packaged, the male end is pressed against the hose in the coil forming a deep indentation in the hose. This amounts to a permanent kink within a foot or so from the end of the hose. I didn't know if this relaxes over time. Every hose in the store was like this.

Answer:
Ours came without a visible kink. Even if it relaxed over time, I would be concerned as it might weaken the wall of the hose at that point. Why else would you buy a hose named "NeverKink"?

Answer:
the kink will disappear. Our hose was filling the pool and when we closed the gasrage door on it a few times , there was an indentation, which quickly went away.

Answer:
I did not notice this issue in my hose when I bought it, and I have had no issues whatsoever with any kinking because this is a really thick hose that I just cannot imagine would kink. I know it is a leap of faith to buy it and hope that the indentation would go away, but I would honestly expect that it would. I have had this hose a few years now without any trouble. Good luck with your decision!

I'm not sure but I think it's vinyl; it's very heavy and doesn't bend easily (good flow though).

Answer:
The coil is made of steel to withstand the stresses by the hose during use. The coil is plated to prevent rust from occuring. If the plating is damaged underlying steel can rust. Thank you for shopping at The Home Depot.

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 90 reviewers.
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Seemed heavy duty, but not so I purchased this 75' heavy duty 3/4 " diameter hose to use in my back yard...I have a very large yard and use the hose for everything from hosing down the pool deck to cleaning the pool filters.... It worked great for for about 5 months, then it started to leak where the accessories attach to the male end.... It gave me fits with changing the washer seal and then I realized it is the hose that is leaking not my accessories.... At the point where the brass male end connects to the rubber...You have the threaded end and a narrow nut to put a wrench onto....The tiny space in between is where the hose is leaking and there is no way to repair it, so, it is now just another useless water hose... It does have a lifetime warranty, and I will need to contact the manufacturer to see about a replacement..... Never had this happen to even the cheaper lighter duty hoses.. October 2, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by I purchase two of NeverKink Pro 3/4 in. Dia X 75 ft. Commercial Duty Water Hose to replace two old water hoses I have had for decades. I don't really know how if this is a good purchase because once the weather changes I bleed my water pipes for the winter and I have no need to use the hose again until late spring and summer. They appear to be sturdy and strong but I have not had to opportunity to use them yet. I didn't realize the cost until I got to check-out which I thought was a little steep but purchased them anyway. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Seems great, only time will tell... We have very high pressure at the hose bib this hose is connected to. Heavy duty hoses haven't lasted long since the city mandated a sprayer head with cutoff when washing cars. This is the first hose we bought with an advertised pressure rating. The fittings on this hose are very sturdy and the hose material itself seems impressive. I think that the outside diameter of the hose may be larger than our previous hoses since it came wound up considerably tighter. That would indicate to me that the actual wall of the hose may be thicker. I am pleased so far with the hose, but only time will tell regarding the durability and strength. One thing to be aware of, is that this is a HEAVY hose, not much heavier than any other 3/4" hose, but it is something to be aware of. October 4, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by very good hose The hose came wrapped very tight and looked flattened. But when it was put into use there was no damage to the hose. Both the hose and connectors seem very solid. October 4, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Solid, durable hose Your everyday garden hose is not made for pressure washing - they aren't built for the water pressure that the bigger power washers produce. This hose is thick and easy to use - I recommend it for anything above watering your lawn or garden. September 7, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great hose but it is heavy It is a great heavy duty hose but it was to heavy for my wife to pull around so we did end up returning it and getting one that is lighter for her to use. I would recommend it to anyone but if you are looking for a light weight hose this is not the one for you. September 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Seems Heavy Duty It seems heavy duty and doesn't kink, since I just purchased it I have no idea how long it will last, hopefully longer than the inexpensive brands. August 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by really heavy duty very heavy to drag around, wife dont like. so i told her dont use it. done August 9, 2016
