I've read the height can be adjusted to 18", 27", and 42". But the video says it can be adjusted to anywhere from 18" to 42" leading me to believe there are more than just the three options. can anyone shed some light on that? Thanks in advance.

Answer:
Negative, the height can be altered by connecting the long and short supports. There are enough fasteners to configure the height in a lot of different ways.

Answer:
You can set the height to nearly anything you want as long as you are willing to cut the vertical supports to length with a hack saw. It comes with 4x18" and 4x27" supports which you can bolt together at pretty much any point you want. If you wanted shorter than 18" or anything between 18" and 27", you would need to cut them, but it's no big deal.

You can adjust it to any height from 18" to 42", the vertical support brackets have key shaped holes at 2" intervals allowing you to set the horizontal brackets at your desired height. However, you will need to cut the vertical support to prevent overhang at heights other than 18", 27", and 42".

I just installed this unit a couple of days ago. The height is determined by two of those angle brackets bolted together with 2 bolts/lock-nuts. Those pieces are 18 and 27 inches long, and the centerline between the holes is an inch and a half, so you can adjust them anywhere from 18 inches (by just not using the longer, second piece) to actually almost 44 inches if you connect them on the last hole, and Read More

Mine is hanging over a refrigerator in the garage, and I adjusted it to be just higher than my head when I walk underneath it. Went together very well, I thought. The longer, dark brackets in the attached photos that I mounted to the ceiling do NOT come with the kit. I had to re-engineer two of the "legs" because I mounted it in the opposite direction of the joists than what the directions show. The short white pieces are supposed to be used on all 4 legs. The 8ft length is supposed to go against the direction of the joists. Read Less

I have seen that the shipping weight is about 100lbs, but does anyone know the dimensions of the box? I could not find this anywhere. I am mainly interested in the length to determine if it will fit in my car (for ship to store option), or if I will need to pay the extra and have it shipped to my house.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Overhead Storage Received very quickly once order was placed. Assembly was easy and quick. Materials are heavy duty. Very pleased with this purchase. Thanks September 7, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I've been looking for this! I was considering building a shelf like this to store items up off of the garage floor. This was the perfect solution. Much neater looking and faster to assemble than one built from lumber. I don't have any advice that has not been given already. Just be careful not to overload this beyond the recommended weight unless you provide extra support. I couldn't follow the instructions exactly as my ceiling joists were a couple inches off so I improvised slightly. I also added a strap in the middle front and some rear support to the back since it was next to the wall (see photos). I am quite sure it will hold more than the rated weight. July 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Storage Bonanza Read the instruction several times, they are the only weak link. Once installed, this unit is really great for getting clutter off the garage floor and yet accessible. Installed mine above work bench which blocked some overhead light, so installed a shop light underneath the rack. Great unit, buying another one. August 2, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great product, terrible hardware The rack looks great once installed. WORD OF CAUTION - do not use the provided lag screws. They are worthless. With an 18 volt Dewalt impact gun I broke the first 6 screws in half trying to screw them into pre-drilled holes in the ceiling joists, leaving 3" screws in the holes. They are terrible. I went to Home Depot and purchased some decent lag screws at $1/each and they worked perfectly. If the screws broke that easily on install, I can't imagine that they would hold 600 pounds of weight. Save yourself time and headache and go buy 8 law screws before even attempting to install this. FYI the screws pictured are roughly 1/2" long - before snapping off the lag screws were 3" long. Very fragile, to say the least. June 13, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works Well Great product, not the easiest to get up by yourself, but it is manageable. Holds plenty of weight and the adjustable height is nice to fit what you need. Good product. July 19, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Waste of time I'm pretty upset that when I got home and opened the product it was a mixture of two different colors. I know a construction company and buy A LOT of items at home depot. I order this rack online and picked up at my local home depot store, when I got home I opened the opened the box and found there is two different colors. I called and was told the manufacture might just send the new mesh in the color I order to match the other parts. Now I received an email saying I need to either keep it with non matching colors or return it. this thing is heavy and I have to load it back in my truck to return it and place another order for the exact same product in the color I want. I lot of extra work for a few cheap parts you could send me. August 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sturdy ceiling shelf The shelf is able to built at different lengths and heights to fit it into whatever space you may have to put it in. I'm quite happy with the quality and results. One of these full sized ceiling racks is holding the contents of two, floor to ceiling, shelves, which makes for a lot of available floor space. It's somewhat difficult for one person to install this as some of the parts are nearly impossible for 1 person to support at one end while installing, but I did make it work. September 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent way to use empty space above my garage door Purchased this on a deal day for garage storage and this is exactly what I needed. There was 3 feet of space above the garage door to the ceiling. This fit in perfectly and I got two so we have plentiful storage up there. They went up relatively easy by myself about 45 minutes each, however, I recommend getting another person to speed up the process for measuring and assembly. Once installed to the studs the rest of the assembly was very easy. They look great against the white drywall and provide storage space where I didn't have before. August 16, 2016
