Questions & Answers

is this a plug in unit? What size breaker does it need?

Asked by: chris
Yes it takes a 220 Volt, 30 amp NEMA 6-30R receptical. Google that and you can see the configuration. I had mine ready when the heater arrived, plugged it in and went to work.

Is there an adapter for this plug?

Asked by: LA
No, I searched because i had a receptical for my welders but it was the wrong type. I thought about building one but I decided to come off the welder receptical and add the NEMA 6-30R to accommodate the heater. I just don't run both the heater and welder at the same time.

Hard wiring

Is it acceptable to hard wire this unit? or must it be plugged in. I would rather mount it, wire it and run it through a service disconnect than a plug in configuration.
Asked by: Dave
No, comes with a NEMA 6-30P Plug. I thought of hard wiring but I would not recommend it be plugged in when not in use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seriously great product, LOOK NO FURTHER This is a great product, it heats up my whole garage very comfortably in a matter of 15-20 mins. I love it. In addition, the customer service at Air-n-Water is fantastic. If you are lucky enough to talk to Mary B, you will find a person with a wonderful attitude and friendliness who makes things happen fast. I did not have to wait long for an email response after our pleasant phone discussion. If everyone was like her, companies everywhere would be pleasing more customers and making more money. Thanks Mary B!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Heater works as advertised, but is a little loud. The heater works as advertised and heats up my 450sqft garage area fairly quickly. The thermostat is more of a feel adjustment than a temperature as it is not labeled with temps just a graduated scale. It does require 220v plug with 30amp breaker but works fine. Trying to locate this heater is the most difficult as it comes in the package that states that it is a floor heater. I put it on a metal shelf about 3ft away from other areas central to my shop and the positioning works well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from NOT GOOD Construction quality of tihis heater is good however it does NOT Heat like other heaters. I have since returned this product and have bought a less Wattage Heater that actually works and heats the entire space way better than this one ever could. This would run constantly and would barely be able to raise the temperature. Standing anywhere further than about three or four feet away you couldn't feel the heat.

I do woodworking and I started out turning it on maximum. Had turn turn it down to about half way after 20 minutes and shed my sweatshirt. It was 25 degrees outside and my garage doors do not fit well. I recommend this product.

With oudoor temp. of 34 degrees it took over 4 hours to bring indoor temp up to 62 degrees. A whole lot of noise and only a moderate amount of heat from the unit. Heating coils never turn red ?
