I want to make one long bed to go along the length of my house, can you do that with this one or does it have to be in a complete square as shown?

Answer:
The way you want to do it is not possible with the current setting of how the planter kit is in the box. The reason being is the post and cap have notches at a 90 degree angle which forces you to place the boards in that manner. You could technically modify both the cap and the post in multiple kits and make a longer kit.
