This product required a lot of tight maneuvering for the install but once it was in, it worked great... FOR THREE DAYS. Then the unit failed and required me to purchase a new sensor (not from the same manufacturer) and go through the entire install again. I'm happy to say the new sensor has worked perfectly for the past week... Home Depot needs to find a new supplier for these sensors, possibly one not in Southeast Asia.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by JW Didn't Work, TWICE!
First one didn't work so I returned to store and exchanged it for same product . Second one doesn't work. I will be getting my money back and shopping elsewhere for photo eye. The instructions of the wire color/description doesn't match product. Wired photo eye as labled on product.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by pjohn Caution - watch the hole size requirements
If your application requires the mounting post to fit a 1/2"KO you will need a reducing washer as the post diameter is 5/8". Or the locknut supplied with this photo eye will pull through the 1/2" KO hole..

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by JC2 Bad Purchase !!!
I bought this photo eye as a replacement in March,2015. Three months later it died and I had to replace it again. I think three (3) months is an extremely short life for this type of device. My previous photo eye lasted for several years. I definitely will not purchase this brand photo eye again.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Rudy386 ??!! Can't believe all the good reviews!
Put one of these in five years ago. Had to return the first two because they did not work right out of the package. I cut a hole in my lamp post to fit the fixture so I'm married to the product. It stopped working and this time the first three I tried did not work. The fourth one finally worked. The girl at the return desk said they get a lot of returns on them. If I did not have to fit the hole in my lamp post there's no way I would keep using them.

I originally installed one of these in place of a wall switch to light our stairwell theater lamps at night and turn off during the day. It worked well for approximately 3 1/2 years. I then noticed that the lights were staying on continuously and causing the three 7 watt bulbs to burn out rather quickly. I recently replaced the photo eye and we are back up and running. I'm not sure what the life expectancy is on these but hopefully this one will last at least as long or longer.
