I am a huge strong guy and depend on a sturdy reliable tool that will make my work easier. I used this file on steel and aluminum, it is one of the best files I have used on my metal. It did exactly what it was designed for and did it well, The size and handle were well designed and comfortable to use as well.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by boB Excellent file for sharpening tools
Got it to sharpen my axe... had to choose between the 8" & 10". Chose the 8" because it fit in my "purse" (a leather purse in good condition that I found hanging on our fence - holds all the essentials to keep in the truck).

The rasp/file was sharp and was useful in preparing finished wood products and also for trimming sheetrock.

Does the job it was purchased to do, better than the one I have had for many years.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by MRH1 Nicholson has really gone downhill
I have some old American made Nicholson files that have lasted 10+ years. This one was worn out in a couple months. I take care of my files--they are stored in a wooden holder so they don't bang against each other, I clean them regularly, and know how to use them properly. This is just a poor quality product, period.

I bought this to sharpen my very dull Cub Cadet rider blades. Did a great job making them like new, but I wish it had a better gripping handle.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wally it does what it is suppose to do.
This file is inexpensive and does what it is suppose to do. I like the built in handle that's rounded off and easy on the hand.
